My designs always highlight the simplicity of pure aesthetics with a focus on materials and connection to nature. I believe that beauty is most visible when all the excess fluff and distractions are removed, therefore allowing your perspective to put a spotlight on what really matters. Design, in the simplest form, is a reductive process; which begins with an incoherent scramble of ideas and scribbles which are then trimmed and fine-tuned to reveal a final coherent beautiful form.

As we walked around the house he gave me many space and design suggestions that were very helpful. I will be following up on his practical recommendations to make my house look more open. I also am thinking about re-upholstering some furniture and he sent me local company names that could do the job. I would highly recommend him to my family and friends!

Kuo was referred to me by a friend who had previously worked with him on multiple projects. Kuo most certainly lived up to the expectations. I asked him for a simple yet abstract design that had stumped me and several other designers that I had hired. He had a very prompt response when I reached out to him. He very timely drew up some designs that were absolutely stunning. In addition, he was meticulous and understanding of my vision. Overall, I would definitely recommend him to colleagues.

Working with Seikun Design was effortless! Henry did a wonderful job hiring a contractor for our home remodel. He obtained several quotes and helped us make a selection based on quality and cost. The impressive part was that Henry was able to quickly grasp our furniture concepts and provide out exceptional visuals with very little revision required. All within budget and committed deadlines! Everyone loved the design, and construction and were impressed with the work. Thank you Henry for a job well done!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
"Listen first, then speak."
This is my philosophy to a customer-focused experience. My job is to listen, discuss and then develop my client's vision into living reality.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a 5 year B. Arch from Cal Poly Pomona, a program consistently ranked as one of the best in the nation.
I draw upon 9 years of design experience that spans across the USA and Japan. I had the privilege to work with Yasuhiro Yamashita of Atelier Tekuto, who is often regarded as the pioneer who popularized the modern Tokyo “micro home” that we see in magazines today. I was able to learn first-hand at designing and building small thoughtful spaces that were rich in meaning and detail but not in size and waste. This Zen aesthetic, spirit of design, and respect for simplicity is something that has permeated my being completely, and changed my perspective on life. Less truly is more.

I have worked with individual clients looking for both residential and commercial design. Regardless of the type or scope of project, the goal is always the same: an unwavering focus on simplicity of service and design that ensures your satisfaction.
