Introduction: I am a Hair and Makeup Artist born and raised in LA. I work in TV and Film most of the year and weekends are typically devoted to weddings. I began my makeup career in the wedding world and I still absolutely love getting gals ready for their big day. I provide a whole Wedding Experience to the Bride and her Bridal Party. I've done it all, from hemming pants, to doing dishes, curing bloody noses, shaving [groomsmens] necks & ear hairs, super gluing stiletto heels back on, getting rid of stains on a Wedding Dress, building bouquets and so much more. I not only do Hair & Makeup, I make sure EVERY detail is perfected and you have ZERO stress on your Wedding Day. I have a strong passion for what I do and what I bring to the table. I am always learning something new, whether its skincare, makeup, hairstyles or even how to deal with a new emergency. Every client is a test of my abilities and with every new client is a new canvas to work with. I strive to bring out the best in every face and am always completely truthful when it comes to skincare and makeup you should (and should not) be using.

Melissa was amazing she went above and beyond her job! I hired her for my may 17th wedding the first 6/7 hours were included in her price but you had the option in paying to keep her around longer. I took advantage of this since my wedding was an all day affair. Melissa stayed with us for 13 hours. The day started promptly at 5:30am she brought her wonderful assistant Jenny to help with all my brides maids. I had a total of 3 bridesmaids, my MOH, and my mom and each of them ended up looking AMAZING! during the photos she constantly watched out for me making sure I stayed out of the sun, touched up my hair and make up before every photo. She also acted like a personal wedding planner/ assistant! Unfortunately i can not rave about all my venders like I can for Melissa ... but Melissa helped smooth out their problems. (We got married at the LA arboretum and the arboretum venue coordinator ditched my husband and I after one of our family photo sessions. After 30 minutes (if not longer) we realized he wasn't coming back. Luckily Melissa was with us and she called my wedding coordinator who in turn sent the venue coordinator to get us. Also when anyone in my bridal party was thirsty she seemed to always have a bottle of water on hand! And when my cascading bridal bouquet started falling apart she helped pin the flowers back in... and sadly after a while she had to call our florist to redo them because they just kept falling out. She was AMAZING and far worth her cost! I highly recommend her. She and my wedding planner saved my big day :) I'm so glad I had them. Oh and make up wise she uses some very nice makeup that's good with sensitive skin like mine. And she doesn't cake it on too thick. I never wear make up so i was really worried but I'm glad it wasn't so obvious. Also when doing trials she comes to you vs you having to meet her up at a salon, and she was also always available to answer questions and worked around your schedule.

Melissa was the principal make-up artist at my sister's wedding just last month. Of all the vendors that day, Melissa stood above them all. She went way above and beyond the call of duty, showing up at 5am to take care the wedding party, and a full day of ceremonies. She stayed with us for over 12 hours, beyond her contract, as the ceremony (due to technical issues) started a full hour late. Melissa refreshed hair, re-applied make-up and made us all look beautiful throughout the day. She pitched in to hold flowers, offer water and in general fill in gaps of anything that needed help that day. Truly an incredible person. Last, but certainly not least, my sister's hair and make-up were also phenomenal. My sister glowed that day, in large part because she felt so beautiful with Melissa's work. While I don't live in the area, I would hire Melissa in a heart-beat for any formal event I would need to attend in the Los Angeles area. She's incredible!

Melissa did my hair and make-up for my wedding, including 7 bridesmaids! She was very helpful every step of the way. I knew I wanted to still look like me on my wedding day, and not look like I had layers of make-up on my face, and she did just that without sacrificing the longevity of the look. The pictures turned out great whether they were taken in the early afternoon, or during the last dance. I was really impressed with her detailed schedule prior to the day of, and even more impressed that everything went exactly as scheduled! Given I let my bridesmaids do their hair any way they wanted, which can be more challenging, she was flexible and made each of them even more beautiful than they already were. On location, she even helped with organizing my girls for pictures and stayed through the ceremony to ensure I got a touch up after the tears. :) I would HIGHLY recommend Melissa not only for hair and make-up, but for day-of coordinating as well. She listens to you, stays calm (necessary for a wedding!), and is nothing but professional.

I continually research beauty blogs, websites, Instagram, Attend Makeup conventions and classes & network with fellow Makeup Artists.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
-I was a Wedding Coordinator/Day of Coordinator in a very popular Country Club in Los Angeles County and would have about 150 weddings a year. This ignited my passion for Wedding Coordinating and always knew I wanted to be a big part of the Bride & Grooms Wedding Experience. It's such a rush to see how much work you've put into something get so many compliments. [Although most of the prep work, color themes came from the Bride & Groom - They get the credit!] -I used to model for some great photographers in LA but began wanting to be behind the camera rather than in front! I trained and worked under several great celebrity Makeup Artists also in LA and built myself up from there! I worked very hard to be where I am now and I'm still continuing to grow!
