Absolutely the best ceremony we could have imagined. Pastor Clark was awesome. We had so many compliments about what he said about marriage, love and relationships. It was beautiful. Thank you Pastor Clark.
Steve is very good at creating a safe, no blame space for us to air our feelings. His feedback is so helpful! He has helped us a lot in 3 sessions. We feel like we would recommend him to anyone needing marriage counseling. We plan to continue with him and hope to use him for tune ups after we are past our current therapy. He’s a really nice man!
JoEllen was wonderful to work with. We had her officiate our wedding ceremony, and it was perfect! She is very knowledgeable and so sweet! At the last minute we decided to add in prayers and blessings, and she was more then happy to accommodate. Even after the fact, there have been some hiccups with our marriage license and JoEllen has been there to help us along the way. We are so glad we got to have her be apart of such a big day in our lives.
This is for relationships with family, friends, coworkers, strangers, and even yourself! This really dug deep and further taught me why good manners are so important why it’s so important to not hide, to shine your inner light. This is coming from a person who is somewhat shy and somewhat broken-hearted. This was healing for me.
My husband and I had communication issues that were detrimental to our marriage. In the beginning it started out with us discussing our main problem and from there realized that there were other issues beneath that - but that were still directly related to our core issue. Talal revealed to us many ways of seeing each other's side, showing us (and us realizing) both our strengths and weaknesses we each brought to the marriage, and gave us tools and 'homework' to work on those issues. Each assignment made us really work on ourselves, sometimes not knowing if we would overcome that obstacle but it really was amazing to see how Talal guided us and gave knowledgeable insight - and not taking sides or shaming. Do we have a ways to go in continuing to work on our marriage and communication, absolutely, but we feel so much more confident in tackling it with respect and love. Thank you.
Sheena is an exceptional and very knowledgeable therapist. She really helped me learn about myself and see things from different perspectives. I really like that she presents a variety of ideas to consider so I can fully think about all my options and make informed decisions. I would highly recommend her.
We filed for divorce and needed to see if there was any final measures that we could obtain from marriage counseling before we completely pulled the plug. I contacted Beverly and she made herself available to help. She was kind, professional, empathetic, and completely "spot on". Her perspective was a fresher one with some homework to help with an immediate mind shift. I highly recommend her and glad I found her.
Pastor Steve officiated our wedding ceremony and my husband and I are so blessed and grateful to have met him and his wife Doris. Pastor Steve was very attentive to our hearts and the vision we had for our wedding day. Not only did he help us plan an amazing wedding ceremony but, he offered fatherly counsel, encouragement, and prayers that we greatly appreciated. Thank you and God bless you, Pastor Steve!!
ABOUT I am a licensed marriage and family counselor in California who has years of experience. I truly know how to listen, support and understand - and I have a sense of humor, too! I know that it's a tough decision to make a therapy appointment with someone you've never met, so give me a call, and we'll talk.
I have been working with couples who are feeling stuck in their relationships and with individuals who have been feeling frustrated and dissatisfied with their lives. By working together, we can create a space to explore and identify your unique needs and help you build a life that is more fulfilling and meaningful. I have been working in this field for over 10 years and have the privilege of helping people make profound and wonderful changes in their lives.
I work with individuals, couples, and children. I'm passionate about bringing peace, happiness, love, hope, security, and self-confidence back to the client and bringing out strengths the couple's relationship already has and working through the struggles they may not be aware of. Often times, clients come in feeling stuck. They don't like their career, they are struggling in their relationship, or the past is now causing pain in the present. I enjoy being on the journey through the rough and coming out to a place of peace with them. I have special interests working with Individuals and couples experiencing infertility, First Responders, & Veterans. Therapy should be enjoyable! I utilize a variety of therapeutic techniques in my practice. It's important to me to be able to cater to the needs of my clients. Every client is different so creating individual treatment plans is important to the success of the client. I believe the most difficult part of therapy is making that initial phone call. The rest is a conversation over a cup of tea!
Therapy is intended to treat many different types of clinical problems. A licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) is a mental health professional trained in psychotherapy and family systems and licensed to diagnose and treat mental, behavioral, and emotional disorders, individually or within the family system, in a framework of interpersonal relationships. MFTs are concerned with the total health and well-being of the individual and the family within a family system.Therapy is not a “quick fix”. I will work to help you find and improve skills needed to foster personal growth, manage, and overcome difficult life stressors. Therapy requires a commitment by you and/or your family to make changes and improve your overall mental health and well-being. I have experience working with children and adolescents with a wide range of mental health symptoms including anxiety, depression, attachment issues, behavioral disorders, abuse and trauma and I have extensively worked in the field of sex offending with adjudicated and non adjudicated youths. In 2010 I started Sac Family Solutions, a private practice that uses a variety of different interventions tailored specifically to each individual. During this time I have independently consulted for several different school districts to provide educationally related mental health services (ERMHS) for students in special education and social emotional mental health for general education students. I am familiar with mental health in the school system and with educationally related mental health goals on an Individual Education Plan (IEP).
Many other therapist say that they work with couples, but very few in this area were specifically and in depthly trained, in their masters program, to work with relationships. I was required to log 500 supervised relationship hours while in school. This is unique to the field and makes me more qualified than most in this region. Also I am a confident, direct, and interactive therapist. I won't just sit and listen and throw out a peice of advice at the end. We work together, practice in the room and get specific direct feedback about your progress as we work. Also, you don't have to fear about me advising you to divorce or break up. I will work for your relationship even when it's tough for you to keep doing it. However, if you both agree to end the relationship, I will support you through that process.

As a solution-focused therapist, my goal is to help you uncover your true potential and lead a life that is worth celebrating. While we can't change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand and resolve challenges in your life. What you need to know most about me is that I am totally committed to your healing and cleaning up your past, creating new possibilities for today, rekindling your zest for life, and creating a new life you absolutely love and fully participate in. I work with both short-term and long-term therapy clients. My goal is to develop long relationships with clients so that they feel the extra support they need during times of crisis or when they are seeking growth in their lives and relationships. Through the solution-based therapy, I will help you understand the cause of problems, find effective solutions, and learn to live more comfortable. A therapist should be a good fit for a client, so I encourage you to read more about my services or call for an initial session to see if I am the right therapist for you. In addition, I regularly take course work and continuing education in a wide variety of clinical topics to increase and update my knowledge base and experiential learning opportunities. With several years of experience as a marriage and family therapist, I also currently run and facilitate groups for women who are dealing with emotional eating issues. I also am in a partnership with Folsom Lake Fitness where I give bimonthly seminars providing tools and steps to challenge the thoughts and behaviors that prevent many from reaching their weight loss goals.
I believe my focus is what sets me a part. I do not provide broad and general behavioral health services. My practice is focused on helping improve relationships, thus improving emotional and physical wellness through healthier relationships. This approach allows for my focus to be more concerned about positivity... rather than pathology. I am far more curious about what is right in the relationship, and in this positive mindset of curiosity, discovering and developing already existing strengths. When these strengths are brought to the surface, we can begin using them to resolve distressed areas of the relationship and improve strained communications. The goal that I am always working towards is that love, compassion, understanding and connection become the new and defining qualities of the relationship.
