FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
During my first session with a student, I first like to get to know some things about my student. Where they go to school, what grade they are in, if they play any sports, and any hobbies they may have are often good ice breakers. Then I like to conduct a diagnostic test to figure out exactly how much the student already knows about the subject at hand so that I may tailor my tutoring to their needs.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in Electrical Engineering with Distinction from Sonoma State University with a Minor in Mathematics. So, I have been required to take an immense amount of Mathematics courses in my studies, as well as many Engineering courses.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
As a high school student, a friend of mine got a job working for the local Library in San Jose, California. They were going to begin tutoring students in a Homework Center, helping middle school students to complete homework assignments of various subjects. She told me of this opportunity, and told me that they were hiring. So, I applied, and got the job!
