- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I work part-time in the counseling department of a university, and I do on-call work at an addictions center and take classes through them as I work towards my CAC II certification. I also attend Webinars and conferences, take online courses, and read a lot to stay up on the latest developments in my field.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Don't be afraid to meet more than one counselor for an initial consultation. Choosing a therapist is like trying out new running shoes; the right one will be the one you don't even notice you're wearing!
