FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
One of the best perks to this line of work is that you are always growing as an artist, there is knowledge every where and in this biz most people are so generous with the knowledge they have aquired and want to share it with you. I also try to pass on every and any tips, tricks or otherwise that I have picked up along the way. It makes me feel good when something I've passed on has really helped someone.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I don't think you choose this line of work, I think it chooses you. However, once you realize you've been chosen then it's up to you to make it work or make it your lifes work. I love what I do and cannot see myself ever doing anything else.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Go with your gut. More than likely you are hiring someone to do your makeup for your wedding day, the biggest day of your life to date, take your time (but start early) interview several artist if you have to. The person you choose should just feel right, someone that although you just met you are positive he or she is just as invested in your happiness on your big day as any member of your bridal party would be. I have, on more than one occasion, stayed friends with my brides and often get updates on there lives, kids new jobs, etc. It is a great honor to be part of such a momentous event in someones life, I take great pride in what I do.
