Guitar Lessons
I have just started working with Josh and I am enjoying it. I have played for a long time but never really got out of the beginner intermediate rut. Josh is patient and has a personalized approach to the students goals. Would recommend!

Had a great first lesson with Josh. Within minutes he had fixed some old nasty habits of mine and was helping me understand my guitar better! He used examples of music and made lessons that were tailored to me specifically so that I felt engaged the whole time. Can’t wait for the next lesson!

I really enjoyed my first lesson with Josh. He's extremely knowledgeable, personable, and passionate about metal guitar. Not only that, but he's a great teacher. He moved at my pace and explained concepts in ways that made sense to me. I went home excited about what I had learned, with a clear idea of what to work on. I look forward to more lessons to come!

My son needs some pushing to do most things. But with Josh he is excited about learning!

FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I take a goal oriented approach to learning. I like to learn about what my students are trying to achieve as musicians and what they like to play and listen to. From there, I set up a linear lesson plan that helps the student achieve these goals and see real progress over the course of their lessons. I also try to make lessons fun and constantly emphasize the joy of music and creativity. Composition is a big aspect of lessons, as well as ear training and some music theory.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have a Bachelor's degree in guitar, I have studied Jazz, Classical, Audio Production, Composition, Musicology, and much more. I also have years of gig experience and can help students understand what it's like to play live on stage.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?I started playing guitar at 6 years old and started teaching in High School. For me, teaching isn't just a side gig: it's one of the most important components of my musicianship. I love bringing the joy of music to new students and I have experience teaching in many different contexts to many different ages and skill levels.
