I'm pretty ignorant and useless when it come to making home repairs so when it came time to hang a security door and cut out a 3x5 foot mud step, just inside my main entryway, I knew it was beyond my capabilities and started scouring Thumbtack for help.
After talking to a few handymen and not being fully satisfied with their pricing or comprehension of scope of work, I finally came across RTB Quality Enhancements. It only took a few pis and back and forths via messenger with Rob before he had all the info he needed to confidently and accurately provide an estimate. With his thorough communication, apparent knowledge and perfect price range, we decided to proceed with RTB for the job.
On the scheduled day, Rob showed up on time and did a walk through with me to ensure that he had a proper understanding of the work being requested. He communicated effectively (being sure to dumb it down for me) and provided expert feedback and ideas to improve on the projects.
There was a little more work than expected when it came to the exterior door, so we had to stretch it out over an additional business day. However, before leaving Rob gave my wife and I a quick training session on a few of the easier things we could do to expedite the process and keep from having to pay him to do it when he came back to finish the job the following business day.
Most people would've taken advantage of our ignorance and happily billed us for the simple work that we could've easily done ourselves. Not Rob! He educated us on the things we could do, giving us the confidence to do it in his stead and even left us some of the tools we would need to do the work, saving us over $200 in billed time and/or tool rentals.
We will definitely be hiring Rob again for future jobs. If you're looking for someone reliable, honest, communicative and punctual, I would recommend you do, as well!

Robert has worked on a few things at my home and has been amazing and saved me money. I have additional projects, and will continue to utilize his services going forward. To date he has repaired my outdoor stairs, sealed an exterior door from leaking water, and repaired a deck that would have otherwise needed replacement. Robert is very responsive and always on time. Initially had Rob over to take a look at my garage for a hanging rack installation. Rob was on time, courteous, and straightforward. In the end, we decided to install a custom hanging storage unit from wall to wall. It came out sturdy and just as we discussed. We were able to store all of the heavy & large items in our garage and didn’t hear a single creak. Work was done quickly and even came under what he quoted. Will definitely call Rob again for future projects.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge a fair price for the service I offer. I'm efficient at what i do and I work hard.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First we would set a time to meet at the clients house. We would go over in detail about what he or she would like to have done. We can then proceed to what kind of budget the client has in mind. I can usually give a a rough idea of labor that will be needed for the work for most smaller jobs. If the client wants and estimate and bid for the job it will be written up and sent within the week.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been working in this field for 17 years. I have done many different aspects of building. From framing, installing windows and doors, eletrical, plumbing, insulation to hanging drywall to mudding. Interior and exterior trim.
