I had an initial apptmt with Luis about next season services. I am on his schedule to start mowing and routine maintenance starting around March. Luis is friendly, professional and seemed knowledgeable. I'm looking forward to working with his company, J&G Landscape Services.

Drake did a great job clearing weeds out of our yard, at a very fair price. He also helped us find an affordable mulch company and when we realized we couldn't transport the mulch alone, he came to help us out. It's amazing how much better our yard looks. We will absolutely hire him again.

We had Damon refresh the mulch and rock in our landscaping as well as install new storm gutter drainage systems. Every step of the way Damon was professional and great to work with. He operates with integrity and him and his crew did an excellent job performing the work, communicating their progress and completing on time.

Joey and Renee were incredibly quick to respond and schedule the project within days to remove some bushes at my home - they worked very quickly, did a great job, and threw in some mulch to cover the area after the bushes were gone. Highly recommend.

We appreciate the work that was done and how flexible they were to work with. We were short on the mulch we had ordered, and they ran up the street to pick up more for us.

Steve pulled over 18-20 bushes, including a chainlink fence that was intertwined. He chipped, used for mulch, and hauled away ALOT of huge roots. He also took the remaining chainlink fence and put it along the side of the house to contain the dogs.

Panorama Scenes did a wonderful hob on the projects they completed for me (new irrigation system, removal & installation of new sod, removal & replacement of fence, installation of additional fencing, removal of, and replacement of decorative rock, planting bushes & installation of mulch). From the cost estimate to project completion, they were responsive & professional. Timelines were established and any alterations to the schedule were communicated. Phase 2 of the project was completed a day early. All debris was hauled away at the completion of each phase. I would recommend Panorama Scenes for any of your landscaping needs.

Our project was leaf clean up and re-mulching of all areas that were already mulched in our front and back yards. We had originally asked for a bid that included some cobblestone areas, but decided we didn't want rock after all. Pete was very quick in sending an adjusted bid; very customer service oriented. I also believe that Pete's bid was fair priced. Pete also provided a contract that stated what work was to be done as well as the cost. He communicated well regarding the commencement of the job and the workers he sent were on time. These guys were friendly and knowledgeable about the work to be done. They were considerate and careful in applying all that heavy mulch and cleaned up very well when finished. They even used a lawn vac to get everything dropped or blown onto the lawn! Pete's employees also wear shirts that identify them as working for Robyn's Nest Yard Care, a very professional touch. I appreciated being able to easily identify these guys by their shirts. Brett, Leonard and David worked steadily till the job was done. My husband was so impressed with their hard work and professionalism that he bought them pizza for lunch! We will definitely be using Robyn's Nest Yard Care for our aeration, fertilization and fall yard clean up from now on. An all around wonderful experience with no surprises! Thanks, Robyn's Nest!

Prestige handled my sprinkler start up and winterization this year, which was about 50 rental units. All of the maintenance on sprinklers throughout the summer was also managed by them. I referred them to multiple owners who used their services also. I also work with a lot of homes that are being rehabbed for resale, Prestige handled most of the landscaping on these properties; to include tree trimming, fence repair/installation, yard clean up, new sod, mulch and rock. If it is outside Prestige handles it for our company. I will continue to use their services and refer them to my clients.

One word. Amazing! I have hired a lot of landscapers for more than 30 properties over the years, but Ray is the best I have ever had. I had him do my actual house and he understood what I wanted in one meeting and executed exactly when he said he would and how he would. Originally I had him quote just sprinklers, but ended up having him donned sod, sprinkler system install, mulch, leveling out the yard, and removing some bushes. He is my go to from now on!

Grateful gardening was fantastic. We have a big yard and had two out-of-control beds that were once wild flowers and just became weeds and grass. Danielle and Kurt removed it all, added mulch and planted bird/bee friendly shrubs. They also tidied up a lot of other overgrown areas so that this year we’re ready to add some color to the mix. I’ll be relying on her advice. Danielle and team were very reliable – everything was done as promised. Punctuality wasn't an issue as I asked her to simply come by when and as convenient - she never let us down! She came by when we were away to water the new plantings too – that was a big help. She’s fun and easy to work with. Very flexible – worked with plants and materials we bought, or picked stuff up for us if needed. Offered advice as requested, and worked within our budget. I am looking forward to another gardening season!

The crew did an amazing job with spring cleanup for my yard - cleaning all the beds and spreading mulch for me. When they were finished they left my drive and walkways in better condition then when they arrived. I will definitely have them back!!

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to have your lawn mowed?

Regular lawn maintenance can do wonders for your home’s curb appeal. Professional lawn care prices will vary based on the regional cost to do business and regional cost of labor, the size of your lawn, and any additional services you may desire such as edging or mulching. The national average for lawn mowing costs is $30-$50. Pros may charge an hourly rate, a flat rate or by the square foot (an acre contains 43,560 square feet). Square footage rates factor in the professional’s time, the use of their equipment, and the gas to operate the mower. Distance may also affect cost: If you live outside the company’s standard service range, you may pay an additional travel fee. Here are some examples of average prices for mowing and lawn maintenance:

  • Up to 8,000-square-foot property: $30 per week/$120 per month.
    • Bimonthly: $40 per service/$80 per month.
    • One time only: $45 per service.
      • Prices include mowing all turf grass areas; trimming grass away from fences, structures, trees, and lawn edges; and clearing or blowing all grass trimmings from driveways, sidewalks, curbs, etc.
  • Hourly rate: $25 per hour (including travel, equipment costs and labor).
  • Lot size:
    • Smaller lots in subdivisions: $35.
    • Half-acre lot: $50.
    • One-acre lot: $100.
