Introduction
We have over 2 decades of training experience and expertise. We started with dogs that had no hope supposedly, yet we trained and loved them into loving homes. We spent over a decade overseeing the puppy program from 8 week old puppies up to adult dogs for various service dog jobs from therapy to high tasking service work. Basic obedience is a super fun way for us to teach leadership and relationships between you and your beloved K9. Paws Up works with everyone within their budget. We do not sell needless packages. Instead we build relationships and grow off of your referrals. We are now offering Grooming, our first salon is located in Thornton. We also will offer Board and Train if we feel it is the only way to get the needed result for you. Paws Up looks forward to building a Pawsitive relationship with your K9 pack and family. We offer services up and down the I-25 corridor and can serve most of Colorado. My trainers have vast experience and can train any dog and help you with every issue. Paws UP!

5 Stars – Incredible Puppy Trainer We can’t say enough good things about Sandy (Jake)! From the very first session, my husband and I were shocked at how immediately our puppy respected her. Jake has a calm, confident presence that dogs—and people—respond to right away. It was clear she knew exactly what she was doing. She helped us lay a solid foundation with crate training, leash manners, recall, and more. But what really impressed us was the additional 4-day boarding at her home. When our puppy came back, the progress was amazing—more focused, calmer, and so much better at following commands. Jake not only gets real results but does it all at a very reasonable price. She was always professional, patient, and generous with her knowledge. We feel lucky to have found her and would recommend her to anyone serious about giving their puppy the best start.

Within a brief 30 minute session with Sandy, she changed my whole relationship with my dog. I have my first working breed dog, and leash pulling as well as the dog running roughshod over me were huge issues. Sandy immediately showed me how to communicate to my dog that I am in charge and she gets to just be a dog. In the sessions since, and in daily life with my dog, we are both more relaxed and have a much better relationship. Our relationship is more peaceful and I am excited to continue training! I can not say enough good things about Sandy and her capabilities!

Working with you and Charlie has been so wonderful and to think other trainers wanted to just put a correction collar on her rather than teaching her to heel nicely with you and have a respectful relationship between the two of you.

100 out of 10! We extensively researched and used 4 different experienced dog trainers in So. California, spending thousands of dollars for our reactive 3 1/2 year old Irish Setter. We were so hopeful that each trainer could lessen his reactivity. Honestly, there was so much standing around, listening to the trainer on what we needed to do, watching poor quality videos, feeding tons of treats. Not actually touching our dog or going in real life triggering situations. All training was done in safe areas and far away from triggers. Therefore, our lives were total avoidance of dogs and people. Our walks were stressful, being pulled by our dog and hiding from other dogs. He also had zero recall. After moving to Colorado Springs, we thought we'd try one more trainer Our Paws Up K9 Academy trainer "Jake" (Sandy) is absolutely amazing. She had us get right to work. Jake assessed our dog Walter, created incredible rapport with our suspicious Walter, took him on walks by herself first and then with us in the busy park with other dogs and people and provided us with the all positive tools to break his reactivity and focus on us while walking past dogs and other triggers. It was unbelievable. I honestly didn't think it could be done. We learned and did activities for recall, come, stay, place and Walter was loving it in the park while people and dogs were all walking by! Walter was totally focused on us. After only 3 visits, we feel like we are going to finally have a normal, enjoyable life with our Walter and be able to do more with him to enrich his life and our lives. Highly Highly recommend! We are thrilled!
