Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: In 2021, I established “A Touch of Golden Class”. Ever since, I have been providing loyal and loving pet training and services to the Colorado Springs area and beyond. I have grown to include in-home training, as well as board-and-train, inside my new home. YES! I said in my home. Training your pup in a facility, is all well and fine. However, studies have shown, training in a home environment makes the transition to your home easier. My goal is and has always been to assist in making your pet, your pride! Our focus is to teach you how to get your dog ready for the real world. So that your dog fits your lifestyle, whether it's puppy training or training to become a service dog. Our number one goal is to teach our clients and their companions to have the best relationship possible. We love seeing the relationship between our clients and their companions become a strong working relationship. Once a strong working relationship anything is possible once we have that. We love our furry friends! From running around in our fenced yard to lounging on our comfortable bedding, your dog will be begging to stay here! We provide fun, treats, and lots of love. Our in-home dog care means your fur baby will not feel left behind while you are away. It also means you don’t have to worry about the safety or happiness of your pet! All breeds are welcome! All energy levels are accepted here. Please be honest about your dog so that we can provide the best stay, even if this means you think your dog barks too much or isn't precisely potty trained. It is ok; we got this! Our home is cleaned daily, including toys, bedding, and bowls. The advantage of in-home dog boarding is that your fur baby isn't alone or surrounded by crowds of dogs coming in and out. You do not risk exposing them to kennel cough, injuries during playtime with other dogs, etc. Happiness exists here! It is not just the freedom to roam free in our home and yard that your dog will love, but the genuine affection and attention they will receive! Check us out on our website atouchofgoldenclass.com or on Instagram!! Give us a call today 7 1 9 8 9 6 1 4 6 4 Due to Covid-19, we do offer curbside drop off and pickup at customer's request. Kathy loves dogs and made my Rainey feel comfortable. She knows her dogs, so they welcomed him to the pack slowly and he enjoyed his stay. He will go for daycare and overnight visits again.

I had never had the need for anyone to care for my now 8 year old dog, Tilly. Due to family circumstances that required me to leave town, it was necessary to find someone to help me out. My choices were a kennel where she would be crated for most of the day, taken to a small area to potty, and likely have little or no interaction with other dogs. The other option was private care. When I took Tilly to Kathy's, the decision was easy. The most important gauge for me was my dog. She loved it there from the beginning. Dogs in Kathy's care are outside for most of the day socializing with other dogs, going for regular walks, and no crates unless upon request. Training is also part of the dogs daily routine.I received pictures and videos nearly everyday. Whenever I texted her, which was often, she responded immediately with updates. I had no worries about Tilly knowing that she was in loving hands. My only fear is that she won't want to come home:)! Thank you Kathy, from the bottom of my heart.

05.29.2020 - Let me start by saying I don't have children of my own and my pups are my babies...as such, I interviewed four other dog trainers in the Denver, CO area before stumbling upon Kathy via Nextdoor.com as a recommendation from a trusted neighbor in Elizabeth, CO. Come to find out, Kathy's not in my neighborhood, but 45 minutes South of me in Colorado Springs - it was worth the drive. She invited me into her home for an initial consultation and spent 2 hours with me and my pups free of charge observing us in her backyard (Intervention alert! My pups were running me). She was responsive, delightful, real, and a POSITIVE reinforcement trainer (no shock collars here). She is a wonderful lady, with realistic expectations for your dog. If she thinks she can't get a behavior mastered in the time frame given, she tells you that up front. She is in high demand, so after our initial consultation I booked for two weeks out, and brought my girls back. When I say "my girls" I have two 9 month old Aussie Blue Heelers - Dolly Parton & Reba McEntire. It's important to note here that my pups are EXTREMELY high energy and had every bad trait a pup could have (my fault - I'm a spoiler). Barking, playfully nipping, jumping up on people, pulling on the leash, not well socialized, aggressive with larger dogs...the list continues. I booked 2 weeks out and hoped for the best. Fast forward to day 10 of 14 with Kathy and both my girls go into heat! She called me and offered another 4 days of training FREE of charge as they lost focus. Well if you know my dogs, they never had focus before meeting Kathy! My babes returned home a better version of themselves. Sit, stay, down, shake, no barking, no jumping, quiet in their seats and focused on me giving direction. WORTH EVERY PENNY. I highly recommend, and I have given Kathy her permission to use me as a reference.

Details: 6 - 12 months old • Medium (26 - 40 lbs) • Board and train at a facility • Puppy training • Leash pulling • Destructive behavior • Chewing • At the pro’s location

We love A Touch of Golden Class and Kathy was amazing working with our fur baby, Sansa. Our 1yr 10 mo Australian Cattle Dog/Terrier/Lab Retriever mix was showing over excitement when visitors would come over, some resource guarding with other dogs present, and excessive pulling on the leach on walks. After two weeks with A Touch of Golden Class, Sansa came home tired, happy, and educated! Walks have been so much more rewarding for her and myself and Kathy gave my husband and I lots of take home schooling to help Sansa continue fine tuning her new learned skills. When visitors come over, she knows how to relax and greet nicely and her socialization at "school" has helped her be more willing with sharing her toys. Thank you Kathy for everything!

I guess you could say my puppy isn’t the sharpest tool in the shed. She needed more than 2 weeks.... but Kathy was right with me the whole way making a plan to get her where she needs to be. We are working with her at Kathy’s home and one on one. Kathy will not give up on you or your puppy. I’m so thankful for her.
