This contractor was a no-call-no-show for our originally scheduled date and time to assess the job. He finally messaged me late that same night and asked if he could come the next day and I agreed. He was 15 minutes late to the 2nd scheduled appt. He then tried quoting me $1300 for a job that he said would take a full day. The job was securing permanent Govee peel & stick XMas lights that have already been installed on the house, but need brackets installed every few feet because some of the stick and peel lights were already becoming “unstuck” and falling off in a couple places. This contractor advertises his rate as $60/hr on Thumbtack so even if it took him 10 hours to do the job, that still is only $600. He said he was including the cost of a new 36’+ ladder that he would split with me which he said usually costs around $300-400, but I insisted I could just rent a ladder. He then made comments that “I don’t know what your husband does, but you’re gonna need a ladder living in a house like this”. I’m a successful single mother and doctor, I don’t want/need to own a ladder, and I don’t want/need a husband. This guy is way overpriced, wasted my time twice, and is incredibly rude and inappropriate. Don’t waste your time or money here.
