Introduction: Previous clients have told me that I am "Unusual and not the typical trades person" for a variety of reasons. First and foremost are my manners, friendliness and I am very communicative with everyone in the house, (be it the client, a child or their family pet). I've also been known to house sit and pet sit for clients that have gone out of town, while I'm painting their home, as an added service..... This is a hard question for me to answer, because there are numerous reasons why I prefer to be self employed versus working for someone else. I am a very creative person, have high ethics and expect myself to provide a quality job every time. If I want to put in some extra hours to beat a dead line, I want to be free to do it, without having to ask someone else for permission, as you would have to do if you worked for someone else.....

If you are looking for 2 people to show up daily, work around your schedule if need be, go above and beyond what your contract says, like finding and fixing minor problems that could raise your utilities bill, because someone else didn't quite do the job that they were paid to do, well, look no further. These 2 women exceeded my expectations in every sense of the word, and my dog really liked them as well. I mean, he didn't even bark when they drove up, nor came to the door, and that's very unusual....

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
First impressions make a big impact on me, so things I'm looking for kind of go this way: 1 Does the person look clean? i.e. fingernails, hair, clothing. 2 Do they have a company shirt on? 3 Does their vehicle have an imprint of their company? 4 Are they taking notes/measurements while we are talking? 5 Is the communication flowing? 6 Do they have references and can I go see them and or talk to them? 7 Do they seem to be more interested in their blackberry and or cell phone than discussing the job with me? 8 Can they leave their blackberry/cell phone in their vehicle or do they have to have it on their body while working for me? 9 I'm also looking for a "Feeling", does it feel right or does the person make me uneasy? (I can't really explain this one, it's just a kind of knowing)
