Introduction: I create memories with food. My guest continue to rave about the food for years after the event. They don't always remember who got married or who retired but they remember that fantastic toasted cumin lamb chop with cantaloupe salsa or slow smoked pulled pork or the fennel and orange salad. I cater small to large groups for simple morning brunch occasions, corporate luncheons, family special occasions or weddings. I also specialize in the unusual situation catering roles where the venue does not have a kitchen, outdoor events, and destination type events. James catered our wedding reception last week and it was wonderful! We had about 120 guests at a remote location, so this was a fairly difficult assignment. The food and service could not have been better. Everything was precisely timed. Everyone was raving about the food, with comments like, " the is the best food I've ever had at a wedding reception...Who catered this event?!"

James helped us with our wedding reception (two of them). We had a small family wedding and reception and then a big reception with all our friends at the Walnut Room. We started with what I wanted as the basics and then created dishes that would compliment each other. My friends and family STILL talk about the food two years later. Our simple goal was fantastic food and great memories. James and his team were a smashing success! Their flexibility and creativity were so helpful; I would use Salt, Sugar and Lemon again and again and again.

5 stars aren't enough! James catered our wedding back in September 2014. Our venue didn't have a traditional kitchen but on the walk through James was able to assure us everything would work out and it did. The food-- amazing. The service-- spectacular. The presentation-- beautiful. And the stress-- non existent. James, his wife and his staff bent over backwards for us at our wedding. James answered every email promptly and with every question or concern we had he answered with, "Yes, we will make that work." They handled our 125+ guest list without issue. I strongly suggest Salt, Sugar and Lemon. Next big event we have will be catered by SSL.

An outdoor wedding with limited resources did not keep James from putting on an amazing wedding dinner for our son and new daughter in law. The food was amazing the presentation was unbelieveable and delicious. James is truly a food talent in any setting

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Being a custom caterer I do not have standard pricing. I can assure you that I am competitive with pre-set menu caterers. Generally I am more cost effective because I am able to customize a menu to your event and budget
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to create menus that match the event you are having. Whether that be using your favorite ingredients, providing seasonal menu offerings or building the menu around your theme. With a short phone call I ask specific questions about your event and food habits of your guests (if known) and then I will send you menu options that fit your event. I do have sample menus to help get idea starters!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated with honors from a classically french culinary arts program I am food safe certified I have attended farm to table food course programs
