Introduction: The story of The Über Sausage dates back to 1923; this was the birth year of Leo Karl Gschwend, in the small town of Altstatten in Switzerland. Early in Leo's life, he decided to pursue a career on food and his dream of becoming a chef. In 1950, after being trained as a chef in Neuchatel and St. Gallen, Switzerland, Leo came to the United States to share his international talents to Colorado and to start a new life. Although Leo ran a successful catering business and fine dining restaurant, his favorite meal was a Swiss sausage, an often-found European street food, which he regularly prepared for his friends and family. His Swiss sausage was comprised of fresh baguette, a European sausage, veggies and a family secret mix of spices and herbs. Starting June of 2011, his grandson and two partners have decided to bring to the masses the secret of Leo's family. In addition to the Swiss sausage, there are some other family favorites that will complete the menu; these include bison hotdogs, buffalo bratwurst, charred Kielbasa and chicken apple sausage. There will also be a tasty side of hand-cut fries, plus over 9 do-it-yourself spices for customers who are hungry! The Über Sausage restaurant and food truck brings to you the best Switzerland has to offer, and you would say, "It's so good; it should be illegal."
