Introduction: I offer counseling and therapy services -- cognitive/behavioral, relational/emotional focused counseling, and trauma therapy (PTSD) for individuals and couples. I am certified in EMDR II, TIR, NLP, EFT, TFTII, BSFF, NET, and Erickson relaxation. Services: Dr. Dave has many years of experience with traumatic stress (chronic, acute, complex, PTSD and simple), addictions, anxiety, dual diagnosis, depression, and couples/marriage therapy (couple communication specialist). He is passionate and energized in assisting couples and individuals recover from trauma and relationship issues. Personal statement: It's not "what happens to us" which creates our problems; it is how we "think" about it that proceeds to keep us stuck in our emotional pain. Dr. Dave's approach to counseling and therapy is client-centered, goal-oriented, pragmatic, and respectful. Clients' viewpoints and values are taken seriously as goals are mutually identified, given treatment approaches and plans for therapy. He helps individuals and couples examine the beliefs and behaviors that aren't working to identify and implement creative coping skills and new flexible ways to resolve hurtful and disappointing struggles. Dr. Dave works with individuals and couples who want to settle the symptoms of relationship conflicts and traumatic incidents. The counseling aims are to re-establish intimacy, and a heart connection, communicate respectfully, meet the needs of each other, and resolve problems, while restoring trust, in a constructive and safe way. He recognizes that the counseling process takes a commitment of time, money and emotional energy. Solution-focused and skills-based models for trauma and couples' relationship therapy and counseling assist clients in realizing results in a brief and meaningful way.
