About
Cathy has a unique approach to teaching partner dance. Focusing on "Social Dancing" as opposed to "competitive dancing", She teaches how to dance with any partner to any song rather than memorizing steps and routines for only one. Emphasis is on having fun while learning the techniques of movement, leading and following, partnering, musical expression. She gives you the tools to learn to dance smooth and naturally and to develop your own creativity with confidence. This is not a "Studio". We do not require contracts.
Professionally trained in American and International Styles of Ballroom and Latin, Swing, Night Club, Country Western, and Victorian/Historical dances. I have been teaching partner dancing in Colorado for over 40 years. Social dancing has been an important part of the building of communities throughout our history. The love of dance was passed on to me from my grandfather and my mother. I feel a responsibility to keep social dancing alive in our communities for the generations. I believe anyone who can walk can dance. My greatest reward is to bring the natural dancer out in those students who think they cannot dance. I see joy in young and old alike in being able to move to music with another person and I see the physical, mental, and psychological health benefits that come from dance. What's not to love about sharing that with others?

Cathy was amazing and so so fun to work with! She invited my fiance and I into her home and made us feel so comfortable with our LACK of dance skills. Though I scheduled the lesson myself, I dreaded the idea of dancelessons— but Cathy worked with us to make a comfortable and FUN environment for us to flourish.
Thanks to her input, kindness, and skill, my fiance and I went from minimal awareness of our wedding dance to feeling competent and COMFORTABLE in what we want to do!
Would recommend to all! The experience, price, and value she brings to the table cannot be beat!

Cathy is an excellent dance, instructor, and my time with her was very worthwhile. She is more than a dance, instructor, however – – she is an intelligent, caring lady who happens to be a very good dancer. I enjoyed my time with her very much, and I learned a lot in a short period of time I will definitely schedule more time with her, because I have a lot more to learn.

My fiance and I have worked with Cathy for one 2-hour class for our first dance and we find her instruction very helpful! I love that she emphasizes the fact that the first dance is more about the deep love between bride and groom than the dance itself. Her instruction on technique is absolutely wonderful also. I think she's already made our big day a little extra special.

Cathy was very patient and understanding of our situation (our wedding was only a few days away and we only had time for one short lesson). We were still able to learn quite a lot about dancing as an artform and not simply steps or choreography. My only regret is that we only had time for one lesson. We will be returning after the wedding for more lessons.

My girlfriend and I wanted to learn how to dance and booke with Cathy not sure what to expect. When we arrived she was super friendly and sat us down and talked about our goals then got us dancing. She was amazing in guiding us and helping us learn, we had a great time and will be booking more lessons.
