Introduction: With 20 years of experience teaching privately and in large groups, in schools, colleges, and corporate settings, John is passionate about providing a nurturing, energetic, inspirational, positive instructional environment for people of all ages, genders, and experience levels. John is personable, friendly, adaptable, efficient, patient, and able to use music and drumming with a therapeutic and healing approach to enrich people’s lives. He has gained these skills through his experience with performing, teaching, and traveling, and through working with people of all ages and abilities including special needs. John is a full-time musician, has a degree from the Berklee college of music in Boston, and has studied traditional drumming in West Africa on 3 separate long tours. My first lesson with John was amazing. He is professional and make the most of the time we had, while still keeping things fun. He has a whole studio set up with multiple kits that serve different functions in his teaching methods. He seems to have a whole curriculum set up from beginner to expert, and he teaches the fundamentals that can be applied to all genres. I can’t wait for my next lesson with John

My son started lessons with John about a month ago. It has been a great experience. John is an excellent teacher and really works with my son on learning all the correct techniques early on. My son has progressed a ton in the few weeks he's been working with him. I would highly recommend John if you are looking for a good drum instructor.

John is a fantastic drum teacher! We recently relocated to CO, and because of the pandemic my son, Landon, was unable to continue with school based drum lessons. We found John on thumbtack and were impressed by his responsiveness, flexibility and enthusiastic nature. After my kiddos first lesson we knew we found a gem. John is kind, and funny and patient. He matches to the style of the student, and meets them right where they are at. Landon enjoyed his studio lessons so much that we decided to add a second lesson each week on zoom. This has added even further to Landons technical ability and with each lesson I can see his confidence grow!
