From being an aspiring musician myself, over 20 years ago I sat in awe of watching this funky/groovy/pocket finding, Ryan Jalbert!!! He had already given lessons to some of my friends years ago. When i fell into a slump, he was able to tap and help break me out of my comfort zone and expand my knowledge of what can be created. Ask questions, he most certainly gives you the time and proper patience, backed with years of knowledge. Whether you want lessons , or know someone that may, Ryan's the guy!!

My 10 year old son started taking lessons with Ryan in September after not touching a guitar for two years. Im amazed at the progress he has already made . Ryan is very professional and ensures that if hes unable to attend a lesson , he provides homework for my son to work on in the meantime. Highly recommended!

Thanks Katrina! It’s truly a joy teaching Sé and look forward to connecting this week when I get back from tour. In the meantime I’m always happy to load up my students with homework to keep them busy while I’m out on the road playing gigs!

My first lessons with Ryan Jalbert was in 2012, and I can confidently say he is an outstanding guitar instructor. Ryan has an incredible depth of knowledge and experience across all genres, and he knows how to tailor lessons to meet you exactly where you are as a player. His real-world experience playing in bands like The Motet and working with artists such as Brett Dennen brings a level of insight that you simply cant get from a typical teacher. Whether youre focused on technique, theory, songwriting, or groove, Ryan explains things clearly and makes learning both challenging and fun. Highly recommend him to anyone serious about improving their guitar playing.

Thank you for your generous review DC! It was a pleasure teaching with you and it’s wild to think that was 12 years ago that we first started working together! Hope all’s well with you and hoping that you’re still playing! Be well my friend

Ryan is a fantastic guitar teacher. I have had many music teachers on many instruments at various times in my life spanning almost 50 years. Ryan is without a doubt one of the best, if not the best music teacher I have had. He is friendly, patient, responsive and most of all has an amazing ability with teaching. He has immense knowledge of guitar and music in general, yet is very flexible with teaching methods and is very good at tailoring lessons to the individual student rather than being dogmatic about a specific method. I have unfortunately fallen out of playing for the last several years for various reasons, but I hope to pick it up again soon, and when I do, I will for sure be contacting Ryan for some lessons! If you are interested in learning guitar or furthering existing skills, I highly recommend Ryan.

I even had the honor of playing your wedding! Whenever you're ready to get back into guitar just reach out. Wishing you all the best.

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Lessons at my home studio in Denver are $60/hr with the purchase of a lesson pack. Single one-off lessons are slightly more. I’m available to also teach at students’ homes for an additional travel increase.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We'll start with a phone call to discuss goals, musical interests, scheduling and to get acquainted. From there, we'll set up a first lesson and I'll begin to put together a plan moving forward.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold a bachelor's degree in jazz guitar and have over 25 years of experience as a professional guitarist, educator, writer, and producer. My background includes university-level teaching along with extensive touring and recording experience.
