Many companies say ther are insured, have them prove it. They can't get business insurance if they are not a legitimate business. Make sure they are a real business. Go to the secretary of state website and do a business search - search the business name and the owners names. Certified, if so by who? There are very few nationally recognized certifications for this business. If they are certified, they will be easy to find. Check out reviews. Are they verified? Most are not. Thumbtack reviews can be entered in by anyone, even the business owner! Do an internet search of the business name and a separate search of the businesses phone numbers. Even take the time to search the business owners name.

Getting your installation done the right the first time can save you future headaches and will keep your family safe. Consider the companies practices for the services. If they are concealing power cords in the wall, are the power cables in wall rated? If not, the installer is putting you and your family at risk of fire or electricution. If they are relocating power, will your devices be protected from surges and other power related failures?
