We contacted Chef Maro through thumbtack to prepare an intimate dinner for two celebrating our first year anniversary. I wanted to do something different and special for this occasion, rather than just another dinner out. We chose Chef Maro because her quote seemed high enough to accommodate quality ingredients and signify confidence in her area of expertise but low enough to be extremely affordable and competitive. Chef Maros confidence as well as flexibility in providing a meal specifically prepared to our request left us feeling very comfortable with her for this occasion. The Good: The ingredients themselves were better than what I have been served at many fine restaurants. The lamb chops were thick and meaty with enough fat to flavor the meat but not distract from the texture. They were also cooked to perfection. I told Chef Maro we had been disappointed with the snails in many restaurants around Denver and she assured us her snails were ordered directly from a supplier in France and we would not be disappointed. We werent, the snails were large, firm and literally melted in our mouths. The side dishes and dessert were also delicious. Portions were generous without being wasteful. I ate everything Chef Maro put in front of me, but my girlfriend at 110 lbs wasnt able to finish all of her side dish. This was not a problem as I took care of that for her the next day. The Bad: Im in a bit of a pickle here looking for something legitimate to criticize. I prefer to read reviews which include some areas which could be improved so feel obligated to provide the same for others reading my reviews. This was my first experience with a personal chef so perhaps I dont have enough experience to know what should have been better. As it is, I received much more than my original expectations. A superb meal personally served by the chef in the most comfortable and intimate setting possible for the same or less than what I would have paid at restaurants such as Del Friscos, Kevin Taylors or Flemings providing similar quality and service. Summary: Perhaps most enjoyable was the personal touch which flavors Chef Maros cooking. She came in prepared and took control of the kitchen. We had nothing to do but relax and enjoy each other and the evening. To my slight chagrin the kitchen was actually cleaner when Chef Maro left, than when she arrived. She truly made this special occasion, an event rather than just a meal. We are planning a dinner party this summer to share Chef Maro and her creations with our friends. Bottom line, I highly recommend Chef Maro to anyone looking for a special evening to remember.

Everything is made from the freshest ingredients. Maro is thorough in asking questions about not just what you like but how you like it. Each meal has been delicious and the weekly delivery couldn't be more convenient. She is very personable and professional. We would give her 10 stars!

Our latest company luncheon involved 50 people, and had a dual theme of Italian and Indian cuisine. Chef Maro did a superb job. She executed flawlessly throughout the event, made it easy for the event coordinator, and absolutely wowed the staff with her unique and excellent dishes. We will definitely contact her for future corporate events.
