**All lessons are online for the time being** Teaching and performing violin is Ms. Shelton's passion. She has studied violin seriously since age 4 and has taught dozens of students since 2012. She teaches at West Denver Suzuki Strings and specializes in classical, folk, jazz, and rock. Ms. Shelton loves exploring different genres, improvisation, and equipment like loop pedals to expand the application of the violin. She received training at Lamont School of Music, Metro State University, Suzuki Institute Beaver Creek, and Christian Howes' Creative Strings Workshop. She currently has 25 students.

Lannie is such a top of the line instructor. She is so incredibly patient, attentive, and knowledgeable about all aspects of violin. I'm over 50 and never took a music lesson in my life. After a year and a half of her teaching me, she describes me as intermediate. It's such a joy to have found her as an instructor and soak up all she has to share. I love our lessons when she plays along side me teaching me correct positions, tone and tempo. I highly recommend Lannie as a violin teacher. You won't be disappointed!!!

I’ve been taking lessons from Lannie for a bit over half a year now, and it’s been a fantastic experience! I feel like she’s really kept in mind the things I want to improve on during our lessons, and helped me achieve my goals. I think taking lessons as an adult can be intimidating, but Lannie is so great about working with your skill level, and providing a laid back environment so you don’t feel intimidated. Even now that we’re in the middle of a pandemic, we’ve continued our lessons virtually and it’s been just as valuable as in our in person lessons. Highly recommend taking lessons from her!

Lannie is wonderful, my two daughters love their lessons. I have an 11-year-old that has been taking violin lessons for two years, I am amazed with her progress in such a short time-frame. Lannie is also very patient with my 6-year-old daughter, she is excellent at customizing lessons for different attention spans.

My daughter loves taking violin lessons from Ms. Lannie! She is so patient and constantly finds new ways to keep my daughter engaged and focused. She communicates very well and really listens when we have questions. I can’t recommend her highly enough!
