Introduction: As a performer, I make it my highest priority to create meaningful and beautiful moments at your event through music. I am able to offer my clients choices from a variety of ensembles (solo violin, violin and piano duo, string duo, trio, quartet, etc.) and musical genres (classical, pop, folk, disney, movie classics, etc.) to fit the vision they have for their event. If you are planning a private gathering, wedding, or celebration, please reach out to discuss how I can craft the perfect musical performance your special day. As a teacher I strive to give my students and their families the tools needed for a successful and enjoyable experience with violin. I incorporate listening, repetition, games, step-by-step skill development, and home practice training into every lesson while working to build communication and social skills, attention span, and compassion with each student. I hold Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in music in addition to being a Suzuki-trained violin teacher with over 10 years of experience teaching in music schools throughout Colorado, Arkansas, and Southern California. I deeply enjoy exploring diverse musical genres and I tailor private lessons to each student’s individual goals and needs. Interested in a classical education? Want to learn how to jam with a Bluegrass band? Excited to join your school’s Jazz Ensemble? I can help you reach your goals and have fun along the way!

We were very lucky to meet Madeleine when my daughter was in 2nd grade and just started learning the violin. Madeleine is patient, encouraging, and so enthusiastic about what she does. Honestly, I was not sure if my daughter would continue playing year after year, but she did. I thank Madeleine for this. When COVID hit, Madeleine quickly switched gears and did my daughter's lessons on ZOOM. These lessons were so effective and really showcased Madeleine’s impeccable ability as a teacher. In addition to her teaching, Madeleine is such a skilled and accomplished musician. When she would play a song with my daughter, I would get tears in my eyes because that was how beautiful it was. Madeleine always made learning fun, mixing note reading, with songs from the Suzuki book, as well as mainstream music. Madeleine always focused on the positive and gave my daughter confidence that she will succeed. My daughter is now playing in 6th grade in an intermediate concert orchestra class, and I can say it was Madeleine who gave her the confidence and ability to achieve this. Madeleine will also be a mentor to my daughter and having Madeleine as my daughter’s violin teacher was one of the best decisions that I ever made.

Hired her to perform for a friend’s engagement party. She was super friendly and flexible with planning for the event. The event was a wonderful evening that was infinitely enhanced by her expert playing. An amazing experience and we were all very grateful for her spectacular playing.

Madeleine played for our wedding and was absolutely phenomenal to work with every step of the way. She was highly recommended to us by a friend who had also booked her for an anniversary party. For us, she arranged a string quartet including herself, another violinist, a cellist, and a violist. They learned several songs at our request and recommended several other pieces to fill out the performance. Their playing was beautiful and every single member of the group was professional and timely. I’ve been recommending Madeleine to all of my friends planning weddings and big events. We couldn’t have been happier with our experience!

FAQs

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

For Students: My first step with any potential student is to arrange a free trial lesson, so the student, parent (if applicable), and I can assess if we are all a good fit for each other. I like to know if the student has any prior playing experience, what kind of music/goals they are interested in, and how much time they will have each week to dedicate to practicing. For Private Events: My first step with clients planning an event is to discuss budget, event size, song requests, number of preferred musicians and length of services, along with any questions they may have.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I hold Bachelor's and Master's degrees in violin performance, and I am a Suzuki-trained violin teacher.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I began performing for private event and parties at 12 years old, and I've been hooked on making people's special moments come to life through music ever since! I first began teaching as a senior in high school, when interested students began approaching me at public performances. Since then I have studied hard to become the best teacher I can for my students, earning two degrees in music and participating in Suzuki Method teacher training each year to further hone my skills as an educator.
