Custom Fence and Rail's reply
He had called Custom Fence and Supply. Custom Fence and Rail was not contacted. There are others in his reviews that have mentioned that they never did work for him yet he gave them a bad review,

Greetings, as I read reviews of different companies doing horrible home repair and remodeling I knew I needed to post my experience. I would NOT recommend Custom Fence and Rail located in Englewood owned and operated by Gerry Schuster. Several neighbors went in together to replace our adjoining fences. The bid was fair and detailed, we all agreed and work started in January 2023. Based on the length and the job (over three months) it appears he contracted with workers from a legitimate fence company to tear out and replace the fence. They installed the fences and the workmanship on the fence itself was good, the posts were secured and the boards were aligned. Afterwards, day labor came at various times to complete the work, we never knew when they were coming or how long they would be working. The workers were not experienced. Gerry could not commit to any timeline or who or what was going to happen, he would tell us one thing and another would happen. To make matters worse, the final step was to paint the fences, the price was fair, however, based on the workmanship we paid a very high price. The day labor or so called employee, could not paint, did not have sufficient equipment to complete the job and my husband spent 17 hours cleaning up black paint all over our house and sidewalks. To make matters worse, a day after the job was finally completed, our e-bikes were stolen from a locked storage shed. They were the only ones who knew the bikes were in the storage shed and had access to our yard for 3 months. When speaking to Gerry about the theft, he claimed it could not be his guys, he vouched for them and he refused to take any responsibility for the theft unless we could prove it. Overall, we had a terrible experience with this company and would advise anyone considering using them to look elsewhere. It appears that this is the best coverup for theft.
Custom Fence and Rail's reply
Dear Debbie, thank you for sharing your feedback. We are sorry that your experience didn’t match your expectations. We take pride in our commitment to completing projects properly and make a point to converse with the homeowner before wrapping up a job. Multiple employees confirmed discussing with you and your husband, at length, about the workmanship, and to confirm that all your concerns were addressed prior to leaving on the final day.
In regard to your complaints concerning the scheduling of the project, and the timing of the painting, you have our apologies for the inconvenience that you experienced. Weather concerns prevented painting from occurring in February and March, and April only provided suitable days intermittently. Concerns of freezing paint, and lower quality results were voiced to you, and we were directed to paint when the weather permitted. Unfortunately, due to the sporadic weather conditions, and efforts to coordinate with you and your multiple neighbors on different selections of paint, scheduling was difficult.
While painting your neighbor’s fence slate colored, overspray and spray through onto your side of the fence was noted. Our employees voiced these concerns to you and provided a plan to fix them by repainting, by brush, your side of the fence and removing the minor spattering on your sheds and house. In response, your husband repeatedly told our employees that it was fine, and proceeded repaint despite our employee’s continued requests to be given the opportunity to fix the issues.
Finally, in regard to the theft your E-bikes, you have our condolences for your loss. It was a surprise for us to hear that they had been taken, and the threats that you presented us were equally surprising. Threats such as withholding payment for, “seeing one more drop of black paint” on your side of the fence, threatening to file police reports with supposed video evidence of the theft (which again, we assure you, does not exist), and showcased here through your slanderous review.
Please let us know if you were able to retrieve the video evidence that you spoke of, and if we can provide any assistance in locating the true culprits. Thank you for your time, and please enjoy your day.

We have a vinyl split rail fence and needed to get a dog barrier added to keep our dog in the yard. They did an amazing job installing the barrier! The vinyl part made the job tricky as it's not a simple as just stapling the barrier onto the fence. Staples would have cracked the vinyl fence so they had to use wire to attach the dog barrier. It added a lot of manual labor, but made the installation look so much cleaner. We couldn't be happier with how it turned out and would highly recommend him to anyone. They don't cut corners and do the job the right way.

Thanks Aaron. We appreciate you noticing the details. Your fence was completed like what we would do on our fence. See you next time.
