Amy was amazing and truly helped us train both of our dogs. She first taught us how we could be better and how to pay attention to the commands that we were giving. We purchased 4 sessions and each session our dogs got better and are now enjoyable to walk. I would definitely recommend her to anybody struggling to train their dog.Oct 6, 2019Verified
Hello Amy has been great giving us a foundation to work on for training our dog. This is the first dog we have owned and the guidance has been very helpful to establishing a plan and setting boundaries with the him. Thanks!Apr 15, 2019Verified
I truly loved working with Amy. She was responsive and professional every step of the way. I bought the 4 training session package and even after the first session, I could see a big difference in Pepper and how she responded to me and my cues and commands. Amy was thoughtful and thorough - she listened to my concerns and complaints and made sure that the training was tailored completely to our needs. She brought a bag with her every week that had training tools like special training collars, treats, balls, etc and made sure that Pepper was set up for success. Most importantly, she gave ME the tools and *confidence* to lead Pepper through some of her tougher behaviors. I asked specifically for help with training for the Canine Good Citizen Certification, but I believe that the experience and knowledge that Amy has would be helpful in any situation. I would 100% recommend her to help you train your dog.Apr 17, 2019Verified
Amy has been teaching Puppy Classes for Canine Companions for Independence for almost as long as I have been raising these pups - 17+ years. She has a real feel for dog training, and she is passionate about her work. She's very understanding of the dogs and tailors her training to each particular pup. Also, Amy is very patient and considerate of the humans who come to classes w/ their dogs.Mar 3, 2019
Amy has been the trainer for my 2 service dogs in training as well as many others in the same program. She has always done a great job organizing classes and offering support! Highly recommend to anyone looking for service dog training or obedience.Feb 28, 2019Amy's Training MY Dog's reply

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I am charge $65 an hour, however I will reduce the price if a client buys a 4 or 6 training card. I also am starting to provide group classes that you can ask more about how to enroll when you contact me. I do NOT have a traveling fee for clients in Northern Colorado.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I talk to the client on the phone to find out what their needs are. We will discuss their goals and specific needs for training their dog. Then we will set up a private session or enroll you /your dog in a class.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have a certification as a Master Dog Trainer from the Colorado Career Academy in Aurora CO. In addition, I have a Bachelor of Science in Human Resources with an emphasis in Training. I have extensive experience in training both dogs and humans.
