FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Depending on the type of work, generally if it's a smaller job there will be a flat rate and if it's more complex it will be time and material with a free written estimate. There is a two hour minimum to cover mileage at $125.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We'll start by talking through your project goals and scope to make sure we're on the same page. I always like to clarify the level of quality you're looking for right out of the gate. For pricing, I’ll give you a quick flat-rate verbal estimate for smaller fixes. If it's a larger project, I'll provide a clear, written estimate covering time and materials. If a job ever happens to be outside my scope, I'll always let you know right away so you can find the right fit. Before we start, I'll confirm the total price and schedule in writing.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was raised on the farm and lived on an acreage where maintence, repairs, and construction are the nature of things. I was self taught and also had classes in carpentry, construction and electrical work. I've owned several properties and managed rentals and have had 10 years experience in customer service and troubleshooting in the corporate world so I'm well versed in understanding your needs and solving problems.
