I started seeing Mike a few months ago for private guitar lessons. Having received lessons from a few other people, I can say that make is the best instructor I've had. I felt that I had hit a brick wall in learning music theory before getting lessons from Mike. But over the past few months, Mike has explained guitar music theory to me in a clear, and informative way. I know have a better understanding of guitar playing, and enjoy it more because of that. I would highly recommend getting guitar lessons from Mike whether you are a beginner, or a more experienced player that needs some help learning music theory.

I have been a student for two years and have made amazing progress at the piano. With her ability to bring in many different aspects to the piano, from music theory to music history, I am able to learn in a well rounded way and makes piano learning directed and enjoyable. I am very grateful that I found such a talented and enthusiastic teacher to learn the piano. I highly recommend this teacher to anyone, especially for people that love music and want to become a true pianist.

Only had 2 lessons but they have been really good. Helping my son with technique and mastering his 6th grade jazz band music. He moves a little quickly but so far that hasn't been a problem. Took awhile to find a drum instructor when we moved here but glad we found Stephen!

We have hired Gary Schmidt to teach all three of our children piano lessons. He is able and willing to meet all three of them right where they are in regards to their ages (11, 8, and 5) and interests, and offers scheduling flexibility whenever possible. He is a very kind and approachable person and a superbly seasoned teacher. We are very happy we found him!

Egemen is an exceptional instructor / private tutor that builds the class based on the particular needs of each pupil. He meets with each individual to define goals for the class. Then, in order to reach these goals, he identifies the strengths and weaknesses of the pupil, and prepares the contents of the class accordingly. He never hesitates to take the extra step to come up with material that best suits the capabilities of the particular individual. No matter if you're interested in music theory, music composition, electronic music, or piano, Egemen is an inexhaustible resource that will keep you impatient for the next lesson.

Fantastic guitar teacher. I've been playing for almost 25 years, but I knew nothing about music theory. Over the course of 12 weeks, he made sense out of everything I had been doing up to that point. I now have a much better understanding of how music works instead of just memorizing tablature. He also introduced me to recording for the first time. LOTS of fun. Thanks Brett!

Amazing! I highly recommend Anne! She is wonderful at helping me visualize the vocal techniques so it's easier for me to understand and making me share in her excitement for music. After one lesson I can already tell she is very talented and passionate about teaching her craft! I look forward to more lessons!

There are a lot of great musicians whom have perfected the art of music, but Michael is one who has perfected the art of teaching. I have been taking lessons from Michael for about 6 years, so all bias aside, I can tell you he is the man with, not only the talent of a fantastic player, but the knowledge, patients, and commitment to get you playing at your absolute best. No matter how my musical interests and playing skill have evolved over the years, he can always meet my needs and challenge me to be the best player I can; which is why I've stuck around. I would very much recommend taking music lessons from Michael, no matter your skill level, age, or musical interest.

Our son has been taking classical guitar lessons from Rick Pruitt for almost four years now. One of the things we most appreciate about Rick is the positive way in which he relates to his students. In both group and individual lessons, Rick really engages with the kids to encourage them in their love of the instrument. During the year, he provides multiple opportunities to perform at coffee shop recitals which are a wonderful and inviting way to both develop and improve performance skills. We would highly recommend Rick as a guitar instructor.

Hannah Joy is an excellent piano teacher for my two children. She is an extremely talented musician with a wealth of academic and performance experience in both piano and voice. She brings her personal experience with learning and practicing piano as a child to bear, which the kids appreciate and can relate to. She is patient, yet expects the kids to respect the hard work it takes to learn the new language of music. She makes lessons fun, paces the learning well, understands the differences between each child and their abilities and personalities, and tailors lessons to the child. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for high quality piano lessons for their children. We feel lucky that she will be staying in Boulder to complete her graduate work in music education!

When I was about 6, Rhonda became my very first piano teacher. Now, 25 years later, I look back at my years of piano with her with so much fondness and appreciation. She was ever-patient, kind, and encouraged creativity and love for music. The foundation she helped me build has stayed with me, even when years pass between playing. I so wish that I lived near her now so I could resume lessons! Anyone who has the opportunity to work with her is truly blessed!

I am a classically trained musician and play several instruments. When my son asked to take saxophone lessons, I went about screening several potential instructors. I sat in on Chris's first lesson with my son and was delighted to see the innovative and clearly fun techniques he uses to help his students understand how the saxophone works and how to play it. I was completely enthralled and realized that if he had been my instructor, I would have truly enjoyed that experience and would have practiced more. My son is very happy with Chris and expects to be taking lessons for some time with him. I highly, highly recommend Chris Ruiz!

My experience with the Alexandra Eddy Project as been a great experience overall. I have been taking violin lessons from various teachers for over two decades and have found Dr. Alexandra Eddy to be extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of violin performance as well as music theory and history. Her teaching style is not intimidating, but professional and encouraging and I have been able to make many advances in the art because of her excellent instruction. I highly recommend looking into violin lessons with the Alexandra Eddy Project if you are interested in learning or continuing with the instrument!

A while ago, I asked Max whether he would teach me music theory, in particular chords. I have so far had four lessons and find that Max is a very patient, encouraging and knowledgeable teacher. He studied music theory in depth at Berklee. Since he has truly worked with this material, he is very good at pointing out the patterns, any exceptions to the rules, as well as little tricks that help me remember them. Because he applies his knowledge to composing his own music, he is also very good at demonstrating how chords work at the piano.

Dustin has been teaching my son for 4 years now and is an excellent instructor. He has taught Devin starting at the basics to classical, blues, rock, and also music theory and writing his own music. Dustin has been flexible in adapting his instruction with my son's needs and wants to keep him interested and continually learning more. Dustin is also very professional and reliable as an instructor and I would strongly recommend him for anyone looking for a guitar instructor. Dustin has incredible talent himself and sets the bar high for his students.

      About

I have 3 programs - traditional private piano lessons (ages 6 1/2 and up), Let's Play Music (ages 4-6) and Sound Beginnings (ages 2-4) Let's Play Music is a 3-year music theory course for starting ages 4-6, that emphasizes total musicianship through piano playing, singing, classical music, note reading, and ear training, and that's accomplished through play! Let's Play Music is based on the philosophies of Kodaly, Dalcroze and Orff. Students learn to read rhythms by saying bug notes (four 16th notes is "cat-er-pil-lar"), learn chord progressions through colors (I is a red chord, IV is a blue chord, V is a yellow chord) and much more. They start on the autoharp and bell set for their 1st year and transfer the skills they learned to the piano on the 2nd and 3rd year. They learn advanced theory skills while also developing their ear skills. By the end of the program, the students compose their own song and play it at the recital. Let's Play Music is a great program both for students who want to go on and study classical music and those who want to play popular music since it teaches the necessary skills for both. Ear training, composing, transposing, and an understanding of chords are very important skills for the contemporary 21st-century musician that are often neglected in traditional piano lessons. These are huge focuses in Let's Play Music and in my private piano lessons as well.
