Introduction: There are several things that we do that are unusual for teachers in Greeley. Probably the most important thing that sets us apart, is that we insist on full, hour lessons for beginners. Learning a new skill is difficult, and beginners need more guidance than more experienced players, not less. If you are worried that your 4 or 5 year old will not be able to cope with a full hour lesson, don't. We routinely hear our young students complain "It's over already?" When you hear your 5 year old play a Bach minuet, you will understand why longer lessons are important. Secondly, our students, from the very beginning, perform every month for their peers and another teacher in Masterclasses. Our students develop friendships with fellow pianists and learn how to deal with performance anxiety BEFORE they play in their 1st recital. As a result, our recitals are filled with confident, polished performances, even from beginners. My children have taken lessons from Mr. Gould for the past three years. Over the course of that time, we have appreciated both Mr. Gould and Mrs. Fall. They have consistently demonstrated professionalism and commitment to their students. They treat each student as an individual and challenge each of them to do his/her best. We have appreciated not only that our children have advanced significantly in their piano playing ability but have also learned much in terms of theory, music appreciation, and performance. Additionally, we have been grateful for Mr. Gould and Mrs. Fall's supportive attitudes. They consistently encourage their students and provide support by being present at auditions and performances as well as congratulating their students for a job well done.

Our daughters (8 and 10) have taken lessons with Mr. Gould and Mrs. Fall since age 6. Both instructors are great at working with younger children. They are encouraging and supportive while also emphasizing the importance of practice and hard work. They tailor instruction to the individual child and both our daughters have made excellent progress; both have been finalists in the Kiwanis Stars of Tomorrow show and won ribbons in local music competitions. A big advantage is that tuition includes much more than weekly lessons. Tuition includes theory and composition instruction, monthly master classes, optional summer camps and trips, formal recitals and many opportunities to participate in music activities in the community. We are very happy with their studio and we highly recommend Mr. Gould and Mrs. Fall.

Completely professional, always passionate in a calming and encouraging way, and personally caring / nurturing is how I describe the Gould and Fall Piano Studio. We tried other studios early on in our daughter's journey to learn -- and I can say that there's no comparison really. A lesson with Robyn and Jeremy isn't just a lesson -- a lesson includes games to train the ear or learn rhythms, spark curiousity, build self-confidence, and gain knowledge not only on the "mechanics" of a piece but learn the story about the composer. Under Robyn's instruction my daughter has ventured into playing with an adult orchestra ensemble in Denver, competed locally and on a state level, played at local nursing homes and at the UCCC, attended UNC master classes -- and so much more. These experiences are priceless. And, one more thing -- Jeremy does an awesome job of keeping our piano in tune as well. And, when we purchased a new piano he was so gracious to loan us some reading material and his educated opinions to help us make the right decision. At the end of the day, I really feel like we're on a winning team with the Gould and Fall Piano studio.

Mr. Gould and Ms. Fall are accomplished musicians as well as inspiring teachers. They ground their students in music theory and push their students to achieve. I have been impressed with each student recital they produce, and am amazed at the results they get from their expertise and patient, individualized coaching. Given the personal attention and care that they devote to their students, the tuition is a remarkable value.

My 12-year-old has taken piano lessons through Gould and Fall Piano studio for the last two years. Mr. Gould and Mrs. Fall handle their studio with professionalism. They are warm and friendly with the children and are attentive to each individual student's needs. They use a variety of teaching methods. The recitals at the Union Colony Civic Center provide a professional atmosphere in a beautiful theater. In the many years that my children have taken piano lessons, we have never worked with a better studio. My highest recommendation. You won't be disappointed.

FAQs

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

While it is never too late to learn to play the piano, the earlier you start, the better. Start with commitment. Parents who are looking to 'just try it out' are destined to fail. Those who start with the conviction that their child will gain proficiency will succeed. While having fun at the piano is important, it is only one of the rewards of playing. Music is pervasive in our culture. Everyone should understand it's basic structure and be able to participate in its creation. While learning an instrument, especially the piano, is hard work, the benefits extend far beyond the piano bench.
