FAQs
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Thumbtack charges each pro you contact automatically, if the system thinks it's an "exact match," So instead of asking 3-4 pros, just use the filters, profile info, etc. to select one pro, and in the rare case that you cannot use that pro to get a job will done, at a reasonable price, THEN look through there pros again and choose the one that looks like the next best choice you have for that particular task. This helps save the pros advertising costs, and allows us to keep costs down for you, the customer! 😃 Thanks much!
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Is this job REALLY in this category? Sometimes, you have to think outside the box, to choose the right category. Fort instance, I recently had a prospective client contact me about installing a basketball hoop by augering a hole setting the ball hoop level and stable and then pouring the concrete. This is actually what a Fence Installation Pro does with EVERY post in the fence, but nothing like what an Exercise Equipment Assembler would do, even though they are both preparing sports equipment to be used. So just think about the general processes a person might have to go through and consider which pro that would fit best. Thanks much! Hope this helps you with your project!
