Behav-N-Dogs certified professional dog trainer, pet sitter and dog walker, Rachael Haddan not only trains dogs she also rehabilitates dogs with problem behaviors. Rachael Has over 15 years’ experience training and rehabilitating dogs, and over 12 years’ experience coaching dog owners on how to train their own dogs. Additionally Rachael offers pet sitting and dog walking! "I will teach dog owners first how to understand their dogs better, and then focus on basic manners training and correcting problem areas, followed by more advanced training. I teach up to competitive obedience and service dog task training, if the owner desires coaching up to that level." -Rachael Haddan. Behav-N-Dogs offers a vast array of professional dog training, behavior modification, pet sitting & dog walking services. This includes: *In-home Puppy Training and socialization course. *Private Basic Manners Training and Behavior Modification. *Advanced off leash and distance training. *Specialized Behavior Modification for extreme behavior problems. *Public Access Training & Service Dog Task Training for future service dog(s). *Drop-in Pet Sitting *Overnight Pet Sitting *Dog Walking The dog training courses are explained in further detail below. Each coarse can be personalized with five training and or coaching options. The options are discussed and agreed upon during the initial in-take consultation and changed if wanted and or needed during the individualized course. Owners also have the option of paying for individual training and behavior modification sessions. OPTIONS (1) Behav-N-Dogs professional dog trainer, Rachael Haddan comes to your home (as many times per a week as agreed upon for as many weeks/months as agreed upon. Usually once a week for 4 to 12 weeks) and trains your dog for you while you sit back and relax watching TV if you want. The last two weeks Rachael coaches all family members on how to cue the dog to perform certain tasks (sit, down, stay, come, etc.,) (2) As in the first option, professional dog trainer Rachael Haddan, will come to your home (as many times per a week as agreed upon for as many weeks/months as agreed upon. Usually once a week for 4 to 12 weeks). However, Instead of training your dog for you, Rachael will couch you and each family member on how to train your dog during each and every session. (3) In this option your dog will receive the best of both worlds. As he will receive one-on-one time with Behav-N-Dogs professional dog trainer Rachael Haddan, and receive training from his owner. For the course (most clients opt for once a week for 4-12 weeks) Rachael will come to your house and work with your dog for half the lesson with you present and watching. The second half of each lesson Rachael will coach you on how to cue and signal your pup or dog to do what he/she just learned. After each session Rachael will leave instructions on what to work on during the week before the next session. (4) As in option three, the dog receives the best of both worlds. Everything is the same as in option three for the first three lessons. By the third lesson and throughout the rest of the course, Rachael will bring your dog with her for training for an agreed upon timeframe usually for about an hour. This is great for socialization and advanced training. Once your dog is returned to you (on the same day of the lesson at a prearranged time) Rachael will give you instructions on what to work on (as well as where to bring your dog for outings) during the week before the next lesson. This option is only for dogs fully vaccinated and at least four months of age. Once the pup or dog is fully vaccinated and at least four months old, Rachael encourages owners to bring their dog(s) out to places like PetSmart and Petco and for walks (regardless of which course option the owners picked) for much needed exercise and socialization. DOG TRAINING COURSES In-Home Puppy Training and Socialization Course, is for puppies as young as 8 weeks, and includes: *potty training *What to chew vs. what not to chew *sit *down *come when called *wait *exit rules (learning not to bolt out the front door until releases to exit) *correcting problem areas (puppy biting, jumping up, digging, food aggression, etc,.) Private Basic Obedience and Behavior Modification Course is for puppies and dogs four months and older, and includes: *evaluating and correcting problem areas (fearfulness, fear aggression, dog aggression, food aggression, dog aggression, biting, humping, dog fighting, aggression towards people, excessive barking, separation anxiety, destroying things, overly hyper, overly shy, aggression towards other animals, killing other animals, pulling on the leash during walks, lunging on the leash when greeting people or other dogs, jumping all over guest etc,.) *sit & down *sit & down stays *reliably coming when called off leash *walking on a loose leash at left side *ignoring other dogs and people during walks unless released to greet *sitting for petting *yard and house boundaries (learning not to bolt when door or gate is left open, only exiting when owner says) Advanced Off-Leash and Distance Training Course is for dogs six months of age and older. This course includes all that is in the Private Basic obedience and behavior modification course, plus the following: *extended sit & down stays (out of sight with distractions for up to 10 minutes) *off leash heeling at left side with high level of distractions *reliable recall even during play at dog park *running at your side while you ride your bike, skateboard, run, hike, snowboard, ski, etc, (off leash) Specialized Behavior Modification for Extreme Behavior Problems course, is aimed at rehabilitating dogs that are a liability and could harm someone and or be euthanized. Thus, this course is very individualized for each dog, and since no two dogs are exactly alike no two courses will be the same. Please note this course is aimed at stopping unwanted behavior and redirection to new acceptable behavior. The new behavior may simply be sitting instead of jumping or as advanced as dropping into the down instead of chasing the cat. The main point of the course is to have a well behaved dog instead of a lawsuit waiting to happen. The way the dog is trained in this course is through teaching desired behaviors and also redirecting to an acceptable behavior (when the undesired behavior a occurs) and then rewarding to reinforce the positive behavior. The following behaviors have been successfully modified through this method: *fear aggression *food and item aggression *dominance aggression *dog fighting *lunging and barking at other dogs and or people (only while on the leash) *attacking and or killing other animals *aggression towards people *fear biting *dominance biting *dragging owners during walks *overly fearful *overly hyper *excessive digging *excessive barking *destroying items when left home alone *separation anxiety *escape artist *slipping out of the collar during walks *bolting out of the house *chasing the cat *eating things not allowed or dangerous *jumping and scratching and or play biting owners, kids, and or guest *crazy behavior in the car (this can be anything that distracts the driver) *not letting people come in and or leave the house/yard *etc, etc, etc,. Public Access Training and Service Dog Task for future service dog(s) Course is for dog owners who are disabled and want to train their own dog to perform tasks to help them with activities of daily living. This course will also cover public access training, helping the dog learn to ignore all the distractions he/she will be exposed to during public outings. In this course the dog’s owner is coached on how to keep their dog focusing on them instead of getting excited about other people or dogs around him/her. The dog will learn how perform the needed service tasks even with high level distraction. In oder to legally have a service dog the following must be met: *dog is found to be of ideal temperament, is healthy, and up to date on all vaccinations. *owner presents a real need to have a service dog. *The dog will be able to perform the needed tasks physically (built the right size for the task). INFO ON VACCINATIONS Note FULLY VACCINATED means the dog or puppy has had all of the following shots and or nasal sprays and is up to date. *Distemper *Adenovirus *Parvo *Rabies *Bordetella Most Veterinarians recommend the 3-in-1 shot for Distemper, Adenovirus and Parvo to be giving at the following puppy age, then once a year from the last round. 8 weeks - first round 11 weeks - second round 14 weeks - third round Then there is the Kennel Cough Vaccination or intranasal mist. The kennel cough vaccination also known as the Bordetella vaccination will usually be given once a year. However, if it is given in the form of a nasal mist then it is usually given every six months. The Bordetella intranasal mist is usually given at the same time as the rabies vaccination at 4 months of age and then every six months. Next, there is the rabies vaccination, which is mandatory to give your dog in most states including Colorado. The first injection can be administered when the pup is 16 weeks old, then once a year. Vets offer three year rabies vaccination after the first vaccination, which is convenient for those owners who buy the three year city license for their pet. "I enjoy teaching others! Ms. Rachel is by far the best dog trainer! Through her tips and tricks, she transformed the behavior of our high energetic golden retriever one year old. Our pup was very destructive in the house, would jump on our guests, and not respond to my commands. Rachel instinctively understood the cause of our dog's behavior and equipped us with the skills to help train her very quickly. Rachel is wonderful with dogs and has the skills and knowledge to make a major impact on the home life with your favorite furry friend.

My two dogs had become conditioned to pulling me and my son on walks. Worse yet, during walks when we come across other animals, they would get so worked up that they would become violent and even turn to each other to fight with all the enthusiasm. They also did not get along with other dogs. Needless to say, I needed to get control of things! I didn't feel comfortable using stuff like prong collars, shock collars, or dominating my dogs. I hoped I didn't have to do any of those things to change my dog's aggressive behavior. Rachael advocates using positive reinforcement with food, toys, and daily living enjoyments as encouragements for desired behaviors. These rewards she believes can also be applied to modify unhealthy behavior by training desirable behavior skills that are incompatible with the unsafe and/or unhealthy behavior. Rachael's suggestions made me feel confident that I could change my dog's dangerous behavior without harming them either physically and/or through intimidation. Furthermore, She discussed that solutions focusing on punishment and other coercive techniques tend to cause more behavioral problems. I wanted to do some personal research after my conversations with Rachael and found some comprehensive studies to support what she described. I determined that Rachael was the ideal candidate for our beloved dogs and to serve me and my son. She uses reward-based positive reinforcement that involves shaping, counter-conditioning, desensitization, and correcting undesirable behavior by teaching incomparable skills along with teaching life skills such as sitting, staying, and coming when requested without resorting to harmful methods. We only used/use harnesses for our dogs and they are large 135 lbs and 155 lbs and they no longer drag us! We found that it is safer to use a harness and teach our dogs not to pull by teaching them what to do "stay at our side" during walks vs. Constantly correcting them for pulling. A lot of people told us we'd never have control over our dogs unless we used prong collars or shock collars. Well, we are no longer being dragged and both of our dogs respond to us wonderfully!!! Thanks to Rachael, my beloved dogs Luka and Max do very well in responding to my cues even with lots of distractions!. Both of them now better regulate their emotions and have developed a positive association/response to what used to cause them to act out aggressively. Plus they now enjoy meeting new dogs and no longer act out aggressively towards other dogs! Moreover, most of the time they look happy and relaxed. Overall, they now know if / when uncertain to focus on me or my son instead of acting out aggressively. I highly recommend Rachael Haddan!!! Finally, both my beloved dogs are evidence that there is no need to punish the dog's reactivity and/or aggressiveness to change their behavior for the better! My dogs can now walk peacefully even with other dogs barking at them! My boys are so well trained, thanks to Rachael, that they have passed the Therapy Dog exam and are now providing pet therapy to people in retirement homes and hospitals!!!

Details: 2 - 10 years old • Extra large (70+ lbs) • Private lessons • Aggressive behavior modification • Leash pulling • Barking • Biting • My home, venue, etc.

I have a rescue border collie mix named Sadie who has many issues including fearfulness, aggression towards other dogs, and potty training issues. Rachael went out of her way to met with me even with my crazy schedule. She spent at about 3 and a half hours first doing an in-depth evaluation on Sadie, then going over the entire course outline, providing a demo with another client's dog in training, and gave Sadie and I our first training and coaching session all the same DAY!!! Rachael is very knowledgeable not only in dog training but also dog behavior and has helped me see things from a dog's point of view. I'm so exited that I have Rachael as my coach to continue helping me understand my dog better and train her at the same time. If you're looking for someone who truly knows their stuff look Rachael is your partner.

Thank you Ginny, it means the world to me to help you in saving your dog's life! I know all to well that dogs with as much fear as Sadie has can be a real danger if not properly rehabilitated. I admire you for rescuing her. She is a very Clever dog and once we have her trust I think she will be an awesome companion and sporting dog for you.

I moved in with my sister about 4 months ago, she has an older lab mix "Buddy" and six month old puppy "Lucky" who are vey energetic and love to play all day. The problem was when I moved in with a one year old poodle mix "Dazy" and a bother sister pair of mix breeds "luka" and "Sisie". My dogs where getting pummeled by the labs an a regular basis. I heard of Rachel's Behav-n-Dogs training from a friend and she is absolutely amazing! I was at my wits end thinking I'd have to re-home my dogs because I am not financial ready to move back out on my one. After the first session with Rachel I realized I could keep my dogs and have peace in my sisters household once again. Now six sessions in I came on here to write this review because I want other's to know that Rachel really cares about you and your dogs. She was willing to work with me on payments when no other in-home dog trainer would. She also showed me how to be the pack leader of all the dogs in a calm and relaxed way without resorting to any harsh ways!!! Rachel is a true hero to me and my family. My sister is amazed how well behaved all our dogs are now. My sister works out of the home for long hours so she has left most of the upkeep training to me. And I am so thankful I can contact Rachel with any question I have between out training session. Rachel really has been training me how to train my own dogs. She is a life coach when it comes to understanding dog behavior!!!!
