FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like meeting new people -- getting to know their story, where they are from, where they are going, what their interests are, the usual. The great thing about counseling is that you get to know a person on a deeper level, a level of more understanding. I get to know a person, so that counseling can be tailored to their needs and wants.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a certification in art therapy. My thought is that because every individual has a unique way of expressing themselves, they ought to be given the opportunity to explore different paths that work for them. I also have a certification with Prepare/Enrich -- a program for couples, encouraging enhanced communication, a better understanding of each other, and improved overall relationship.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I completed my master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, with the thought that each person's life is influenced by a relationship -- family, friends, co-workers, significant other -- at some point. Whether working with an individual, couple, or family, each situation is unique and has a solution.
