My girlfriend hinted (like beating me over the head with a 2x4) that she hoped a photographer would be around to capture our impending proposal. So I did what any 21st century guy would do and hit the internet. I emailed several photographers in the tri-state area, all getting back to me with varying fees and availability. I found Neil Blake on Thumbtack. His personal website showed his experience, so I explained to him that I would like for him to secretly photograph my proposal. I detailed that I had hired a caricaturist (if youre reading this and also are in the market for a caricaturist, look no further than Jessica du Preez) that would be drawing me on one knee proposing to my girlfriend though we would be sitting next to each other on a park bench. He agreed, and we were set. The big day was a beautiful October Sunday in Hoboken. So perfect, in fact, that there were literally dozens of people taking pictures (with what looked to me like high-end cameras). My girlfriend and I walked around the general area that I had laid out for the caricaturist to set up and for Neil to be ready to find us. I literally had no idea what Neil (or my caricaturist looked like), and so I wasnt sure if people were taking pictures of us or of the scenery (and it turned out that it was Neil taking a few of those pictures, he really did a wonderful job at being so discreet). Once I found my caricaturist and the drawing was in progress, he would walk by non-chalantly (pretending to be one of these everyday photographers enjoying the beautiful day) and marvel at how well the drawing was coming along and ask my caricaturist if it would be alright if he could take a picture while she sketched and ask us if he could take our picture (of course it was okay! But my girlfriend was still not entirely in the know. It was all for her, and it was perfect. Neil was fantastic. I cant believe how they went above and beyond to really play the parts that I asked them to play). He walked away and took some other discreetly long-distance shots, shots from behind, everything. You can really tell the entire story from the pictures leading up to the caricature, during the caricature, after she said yes. And I think thats more than I could have hoped for when I hired him to be our photographer. After the gig was up, he brought us around for 30 minutes or so posing us against the skyline and taking literally hundreds of pictures. I really feel like I got a lot for my money, and I dont see how I would do it any differently (and that goes for not only Neil, but also Jessica). I am still blown away by how flawless the day turned out for me and my now fiancée partly due to the fact that I did not know what Neil (nor my caricaturist, Jessica du Preez, for that matter (whom I also highly recommend, but that is for another review)) looked like, partly because I was hoping for true perfection, and partly due to the stress of getting several pieces (timing, two people (caricaturist and photographer) working together that have never even met, etc) into place without my girlfriend knowing (okay, so she knew it was coming. But she did not know how and what I had planned, so she was still very much in the dark). At the onset of this review, I had hoped that it would be more about the professionalism and expertise of Neil and less about me and the proposal, but let my excitement and joy be a testament to him. For any function at all, consider hiring Neil Blake to capture the story. He will do a superb job.
To preface, I have significant experience in graphic design, photo editing and DSLR photography. Where does one such as my self go to get my photos taken? Ivan Djikaev. I don't find my impressed with the quality, composition and quality of photos that a lot of "professional" photographers these days tend to produce, but as a hobbyist photographer myself and someone who prides himself on his eye for detail, I can say with certainty that Ivan is on another level. The man is not only very talented, but accommodating and flexible. His quality of work speaks for itself, the end product is worth every penny, and I look forward to working with him again in the future!
Kids loved the photo booth. She also took other pictures of event with a different camera. Quality of prints were great!
We let 3 photographers do a test shoot. Greg was by far the best! We needed lifestyle shots so we gave Greg some samples. He found the model, picked the location, and without direction on his own produced the best shots we have ever seen
I hired RE Media Service for the first time to do a professional photo shoot on my most recent renovation. The photographer was very professional and friendy. Great price even greater service! They just became my media company!
I was having pictures of my 16months old grandson who is very active taken and I have to say the experience will Bill & Caitlyn was amazing as well as the pictures of my grandson were truly 1 of a kind. They were diligent in getting him in action shots and posing perfect shots. I just got the disc and can't express how amazing each picture is I love each and everyone of them! For my active little grandson these 2 photographers took the time to make the experience wonderful and my grandson had a great time as well. Thank you to Bill and Caitlyn for making this Mimi very happy. You guys were the best! Keep up the great pictures can't wait for another photo session when our new little one joins the family this coming January. You guys nailed it!
I have had the pleasure of knowing Todd Gianguzzi for quite a few years. He and I share a mutual acquaintance and I have been in and seen a lot of his photos. I started to follow him on facebook because I enjoyed seeing his work. This past year he was the choice photographer (coincidentally) at my daughters pre-prom party. I had the opportunity to watch him "in action". He not only photographed the kids and their families but he somehow managed to wrangle 50+ kids into several group photos. He handled the job professionally and made it fun for the kids. (Not an easy task.) Needless to say the photos were amazing and truly captured the excitement the kids were feeling. I also worked with him and his family to plan a group vacation to the Dominican Republic. (I own a travel agency.). I just knew his pictures would be breathtaking. He is not only professional but extremely personable and a joy to work with. He has a knack of capturing just the right pose or candid shot. I would highly recommend his services.
Emily was professional, fun and a talented photographer. The pictures she took will be a part of our family's memories for the rest of our lives. Hire her. You won't regret it.
I hired Jeff to photograph my town's Halloween event, with a bonfire, trunk or treat, costume contest and live Headless Horseman show. He did a great job of capturing the spirit of the event. Really great pictures of the bonfire, the kids and the horses in action. Would definitely recommend him!
We have been the recipients of photos and books of photos put together with the incredible creativity or wizardry of Richard Davis. These are works for art. They are incredibly valuable to my wife and I and eventually passed on to our children and grandchildren. I have seen many forms of books of photos about the Popes or Popes, Presidents and other famous people and our picture stories compares with the best we have seen. The action photos are truly fabulous. Richard will use his writing and publication experience along with his photographic experience to create a picture story for you that will become a family heirloom. John and Dorothy Cassandra
Our family has used WhipCityPhotos on many occasions. John has photographed my brothers wedding, various family events for us, along with my son's wrestling last year. I have already booked John for my upcoming wedding in June 2011. I am relieved, knowing I will have a really good photographer on hand. Another nice thing about his service is that the prices are very reasonable. I would recommend John to anyone looking for a professional photographer at a very affordable price! - Joel Mathewson
My first experience working with Mark was doing my High School Prom PhotoShoot. It was an amazing shoot, i was born to be in front of a camera. Since then as a Model of MM3Photo i've been on the "BEAUTY TRAIN" working with great photographers that Mark introduce me with it's been a blessed experience to further my second full-time career as a Model. Mark has a version behind the lens of a camera when he sees, he does everything in his will power to make it big so everyone can see it also. If you want a photographer that has the love for the camera and also the love for great successful shot he's the to call.
Margaret was a total joy to work with. We needed action photos of young athletes for our indoor sports facility's website. She was cordial, on time, and efficient in capturing some of the coolest sports photos I have ever seen. Margaret is amazing at what she does, and I highly recommend her for any professional photography job you need done.
Edita has taken many wonderful pictures of my children over the past four years on different sports teams. Pictures have been inside at the pool, outside on lakes, and at a variety of other environments. I always look forward to seeing her pictures, knowing I can count on her for great individual and group photos.
Tracy was one of the best photographers ive worked with. Not only was she on time and she came with alot of ideas but she took the time to makesure she didnt stop until i got what i wanted in the photos. Her diligence and creative eye made my photos come to life. She has such a quick turn around time when sending photos as well. I would reccommend her to anyone.

Whatever your story, let me tell it. I am a wedding, sport and event photographer, originally from the UK but now enjoying life in the Hudson Valley in New York. America is a very friendly country, and it is a great privilege not only to be able to meet new people but also to learn about a new culture through the medium of my photography. I specialize in photographing people, whether they be at work, at rest or at play, and my aim is to provide photography to every client as if he/she were my own family. I am very proud of my versatility, being equally at home in the genteel setting of a wedding or in the rain on the side of a frenetic sports event. My photographs tell your story, whatever it may be, and I guarantee to approach each assignment in a personal and friendly manner that is entirely tailored around your needs. To help me achieve this, as well as to remain creative, I am a member of the Professional Photographers of America. This organization provides my business with continual support and ongoing professional development, so that you can relax in the knowledge that your images will be of high possible standards. A camera has been my constant companion since I was very young. I initially trained in the use of film-based applications, where I gained a thorough understanding of the technical aspects of photography. Now, I have fully embraced digital technology, loving its immediacy as well as its versatility. All my work is shot in digital, raw format using Nikon Pro equipment and then processed in Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop. Sitting in a sun-filled studio editing with my images, I have to say that I don't really miss the darkroom! No job is too small nor too big for that matter. I work throughout Putnam, Dutchess and Northern Westchester in New York but am also available to travel to the UK, throughout Europe and beyond if required. Give me a call. I look forward to discussing your needs and meeting you very soon.
