We have found all sorts of things for Brian to do, and some have turned into bigger jobs then we had originally though, and he has continued to work on them; for instance, keeping water from pouring in side door. He has patched a hole in our sheetrock and re-hung a stair railing, he give plenty of notice when he is coming and going and is always on time. He keeps his worksite very clean and keeps his eye on the dog, we are very pleased.
My husband and I had Bruce do a complete railing installation for our stairs inside the house. He did a great job and was very meticulous. He definitely takes pride in the work he does and it shows. Thanks again Bruce!
they came in and put up my rail in my bathroom in a short period of time. they were very professional. I would hire again.
John came on time my pluming gave him a little bit on a problem but he worked through it and didn’t charge me any extra
I had 2 sets of stairs on my wood deck that needed to be rebuilt because they were starting to deteriorate. Martelle Builders was very responsive, did the work quickly and well, and were very professional.
Very professional, diligent, on time, pleasant owner and crew. Did a fine job on our roof and railings up and around our front steps. Fair negotiator, saved us some. Worked in cold weather right after Christmas holiday. Would certainly call Patriot Roofing again!
I thought that Stephen was knowledgeable about how to best update my grandmother’s home for her wheelchair by installing ramps, widening her doors, adding railings and repairing her central cooling system. He also installed laminate floors in her kitchen and hallways.
I needed work done on my stairs and had a real tight timeline. Tim stepped up and put me into his schedule, showed up on time and a did great job for a little less than the price he originally quoted. I am a very happy customer.
We hired Anthony to rebuild our existing deck. We wanted to keep the existing frame structure and wood decking, but wanted new posts, railings, balusters and stairs. We purchased clear cedar railings, stairs and balusters which were stained, and douglas fir posts which were painted. It was a challenging job due to the fact that our deck had settled on both ends and was not very level. Anthony's patience, combined with his experience and attention to detail resulted in a better than expected result! We're very happy with the job and would highly recommend Anthony Jones to others.
Rebuilt 4 back stairs for the deck. Easy to work with, did exactly what was promised and in the time that it was promised. No complaints.
Gabriel was fantastic! When I requested someone to help us putting in new attic stairs, I had a choice between Gabriel and another competitor. I first chose the other , ONLY because he responded first. Fortunately for Gabriel AND for us, the competitor didn't work out and we were glad. Gabriel was prompt, neat worker, professional, great quality work, polite, and very fair. I have his business card on my fridge now in case I find other work I need done. Thanks Gabriel and your crew!
We needed a stair railing and balusters installed and they came out great! They were able to come out the next day and were there on time. He did an amazing job, cleaned up after himself, and was a very nice guy! I would definitely recommend using CJT!
Kevin structurally fixed the framing in my 1925 farmhouse, reinsulated it (it had tarpaper insulation), raised the ceilings upstairs (his idea since there was only a small crawlspace there), re-roofed part of my house and several outbuildings, installed several vintage windows, rebuilt my interior stairs, structurally improved my basement, built several cedar closets, and improved my bathroom layout. He completed everything from demolition to framing to insulation and drywall/taping to painting. He also built a 4th stall in my horse barn in an atypical space. Kevin worked on my house/barn/outbuildings/roofs periodically over two years and improved/built/fixed everything wonderfully, from small details to new roofs to large framing corrections from what the original builders had done in 1925. He worked closely with me in the decision-making process, often providing me with ideas and improvements that had not occurred to me that resulted in a beautiful and functional living space far exceeding my expectations. Kevin was very cost-effective in his material choices often re-using original 1925 materials that produced a period effect that also happened to be gorgeous. He was more than fair in his pricing, and I liked how he had me control the purchase/payment of materials directly so that I managed material costs and could transparently see what I was paying for without worrying about hidden costs or mark-ups. I have worked with several carpenters over time, and Kevin was far superior to any of them in his knowledge, experience, ideas and overall professionalism. He kept the job site very clean as I continued to live in my home while work went on, and he always made it as easy and comfortable as possible given the large scale of some remodel phases. Kevin has many sourcing resources - for example, I found a pair of vintage windows that were also energy efficient in a small store I hadn't heard of that really brought my dining room together. Kevin built a horse stall in my barn in the side section with a low, slanted roof. He made several adjustments to the ceiling before closing it in so that my horse had more head room. He had to create a 4th wall that was strong enough to stand up to a horses antics, which he partially did by creating a pocket door to add reinforcement. He was well versed with the safety requirements of horses, and my horse loves her new home. You can see several pictures of the stall on his website, hitthepin.com Kevin built several windows in the barn both for ventilation and so that my horses could see out, and he also fixed interior and exterior barn doors that were in need of facelifts to make them safe again. Kevin replaced the flat section of roof on my house (from an addition), thereby also fixing a leak around my chimney that four other roofing specialists had failed to correct. No more leak now! He also performed work on several of my farm outbuildings, from roofs, to gutters, to seating on an elevated deck. In summary, I found Kevin to be the ultimate professional and an innovative craftsman. His creativity and artistry add another dimension to his carpentry skills, which is a true benefit for his customers. I recommend Kevin and Hit the Pin to anyone who seeks a multi-faceted, talented artisan who works very hard, efficiently, courteously and cost-effectively.

In December of 2011, I purchased a dim, run-down townhouse suffering from a bad case of shag carpeting, band-aid carpentry and nearly 30 years of neglect. To call it a "fixer-upper" would be an understatement--rather I had to completely gut it and start over from scratch. I hired Tom Mucherino to take care of the remodeling and bring it back to life, and I couldnt be happier with the work. Tom is very easy to work with--he shows up when he says he will, stays in good communication, and was always very helpful and informative when it came to making decisions. Among other things, he handled all the demolition, completely re-did my kitchen and bathroom, replaced all of the damaged drywall in the house, sanded and refinished the upstairs floors, and installed new floors on the other two levels. Tom is a perfectionist, taking the time to make sure everything was done right, and his committment to his work shows; everything he did met or exceeded my expectations. He even put in a custom spice rack, and built me a new set of stairs to my upstairs loft! Today, my house is absolutely gorgeous--I get compliments from everyone who visits about how light, bright, and airy and modern it is. I would recommend him without reservation to anyone needing a good contractor.
Right from our first meeting, they knew exactly what I wanted. The job was done much quicker than I hoped. Now I have a beautiful railing for my porch.
Jeff trimmed out some windows and made window sills. Did a beautiful job.
David Servidio and his team at Tri-State transformed the first floor of our house. They removed all of the out-dated paneling and installed new sheet rock with crown and base molding. David also added a unique look to our dining room, by adding a chair rail with picture framed moldings. David, as well as all of his employees were very professional, and completed all of the work in a timely fashion. We are planning on updating our bathroom soon, and will definitely be using Tri-State again!
I have used Caro Construction for four major projects now, and I wouldn't hesitate to hire them for all of my future jobs. This is a brief outline of some of his work for me personally from 2011 to present: 1. Apartment conversion: I had need of carpentry services to remodel and convert a large apartment I own into two smaller units. This required putting up walls, creating a new entryway and hanging doors, planning and installing a kitchen, and remodeling a bathroom. 2. Kitchen gut/remodel: This job was instigated by a water leak and an insurance claim, but we had the kitchen gutted to the studs and joists from the ceiling down. Mr. Caro worked in tandem with my insurance adjuster to handle the job on my behalf before I arrived in person to see the final result. He was very professional and the results were fantastic and economical. 3. Frozen pipe insurance claim: I had a hot water baseboard heating pipe in the wall burst in the middle of winter in one unit of a 4 unit apartment building. Mr. Caro once again worked in tandem with my insurance company to make repairs to the affected second story unit as well as the unit immediately below. This repair required subcontracting for plumbing repairs and flooring replacement, tearing out and replacing walls, insulation, and a ceiling. The job was done very quickly and very well, and when part of the insurance claim became an issue (some materials were not replaceable due to age - ceiling tiles from 1960) he worked with me to creatively and economically resolve the situation. 4. Replace front entryway stairs and porch repair: The entry to my 4 unit apartment building had stairs that were not mounted correctly below the frost line and they moved and rotted as a result. He tore the stairs off, leveled the entire structure, made some minor repairs replacing some floor boards and all rails, and built a new, level, much better staircase. 5. Many miscellaneous repairs and interior remodeling and finish work: over the years of getting great service from Caro Carpentry, I came to depend on him for all my maintenance and repairs for both my house and my 4 unit apartment building. I have found him to have excellent communication skills, accurate bids, and hes very honest and pleasant to deal with. He was very professional in his dealings with me, with other contractors he brought in for specific stages of the work in progress, and gave frequent progress reports as well as communicating the next steps during the entire process. I was very pleased with the end results of all my projects. The quality of his subcontractors was also such that I have used several of them several times for other jobs, as well.
