FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
As travel time is include in my rate, the minimum charge per visit is $100. If I procure supplies for a project, I always try to find the lowest prices and pass through the costs without mark up. Receipts are submitted with invoices or are available upon request. While I don't mark up supply costs, my hourly rate applies to time spent procuring supplies. I typically work on an hourly basis but would be happy to prepare a fixed fee estimate. Fixed fee estimates might be higher because of uncertainty around the unknown complexities that might be encountered on a project.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
New customers bring unique problems, ideas and dreams...so working with a new customer is also a unique experience. For straight forward projects like hanging window treatments, mounting a television, or installing a new storm door, it's 'point and click'. I'll give you sense of the time required, work quickly (but safely), and produce a professional result. For more creative projects, typically the process starts with an understanding of what needs to be done and the budget the customer needs to work within. From there we'll ideate and come up with an affordable solution that fulfills your vision.
