Jonathan is brilliant, in his knowledge of how to design something you have in your head onto paper, precisely. He has the tools, the background education, the psychology to deal with people who just don't know if their ideas about what they want can be done and he interacts with people like no one I have ever met before. I was so lucky to have found him, I recommend him to anyone who is thinking about doing a home project and just does not know where to begin. Jonathan is your person to help you with this!! He is so happy doing this job and that means us, as homeowners benefit from his joy of his job! I recommend to anyone thinking of updating/adding on their home to use Jonathan!May 9, 2018
I am extremely pleased with Jonathan Gordon's work on my home. He came prepared, understood my concerns and preferences, made valuable and creative suggestions, all in keeping with the way I view my space. I looking forward to continuing to work with him.Jul 23, 2014
Jonathan Gordon did a consultation and lighting plan for our family room, replacing our old track lighting with recessed lighting. He was available and very helpful over the phone when a light needed to be moved from the planned location because of obstructions that the electrician found in the ceiling. We are very pleased with the excellent end result!Jul 28, 2014
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? We bill by the hour for almost everything, but we don't have minimums, so a 15 minute meeting is billed for 15 minutes. We don't bill for driving to or from consultations, but we do bill for 50% of the driving time for shopping trips and project management trips. For drawings, we bill by the square footage of the space that is being drawn. It is a flat fee that covers unlimited updates and iterations of the plans, and includes as many specific drawings as necessary to execute the project. 3D renderings are included! We do not believe in markups - discounts that we get from contractors, vendors, and suppliers are passed along directly to our clients.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? The first thing that we do is speak via phone to get a sense of the project and our potential client's wants and needs. That way we can determine quickly whether or not we would be a good match - if it's a match, then we set up an in-person meeting or consultation.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?As the Lead Designer, I have education in Interior Design, a degree in engineering, a background in fine arts and architectural drafting, and experience with project and construction management. I also hold a certificate in Aging in Place and Universal Design from Harvard University.
