1. Punctuality: On the phone, we were called by his assistant and scheduled an appointment for the following day. The day of appointment, no word until I reached out and was told he unfortunately double booked - not an issue as it’s a busy time. We rescheduled for the following day 1-2pm. On the rescheduled day. I didn’t receive a text until 1:45p that he was 30 mins out. He did not arrive until about 2:20p.
2. Payment discrepancy: the biggest issue was discrepancies in the quote received on the phone and the actual estimate. We were told $50/hr. Anthony completed the job within 1.5hrs yet quoted us $275 though said was doing us a favor at $250. That’s 1.5x the estimate and he only fixed 1 of 2 items. Since it’s the holidays we paid because he clearly needed it more than us, but buyer beware. The quote was arbitrary (I never saw an invoice) and I believe even travel was accounted for, which had we known we would’ve went with a local handyman.
3. Poor communication: The next day after paying via PayPal his “assistant” reached out again saying there was a an issue with payment - which was not true. I then received a PayPal invoice for a shipment, which I texted the individual I was speaking with - who never responded.
In the future this could be a reputable company, as Anthony is very talented. We love to support young, minority owned businesses which is why we paid despite feeling a bit scammed. Though the business/customer service leaves a lot to be desired.
