FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Getting to know the student and their skill level is my first step. From there, I think it's most important to understand how the student likes to learn and formulate the lessons and tasks according to that learning process. If the student plays other instruments or even sports, I like to make them aware of the similarities in the learning processes, techniques, postures, muscle memory, etc.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold B.M. in Jazz Studies from Western Ct State University. Ive been fortunate to have taught at numerous studios and schools throughout the last ten years including Cheshire Academy (Cheshire, Ct.), Neighborhood Music School ( New Haven, Ct ), The Foote School (New Haven, Ct.), Hopkins (New Haven, Ct.), Music Haven (New Haven, Ct.) etc. in addition to a large private student roster. I've also judged and adjudicated Southern Regionals several times for jazz/rhythm section as well as snare drum. My experience ranges with ages 3 to 64 yrs old and all ability levels.
