FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I have a sliding fee scale which goes from $150.00 to $250.00 depending upon the client's insurance coverage, income and expenses, and any other situations or hardships.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The initial consultation is one and one/half hours. I want to know some basic information about the person or couple, and what their reason and need for therapy is. What is most important is understanding the client's situation and goals. A person's challenges and strengths are critical for the working together of the client and therapist. At the end of the session, I want the client to feel heard and understood, and to have a sense of how we would work together, and feel empowered to do the work together.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My primary training in psychology and psychotherapy was at the Blanton-Peale Graduate Institute for four years, four years for a doctorate at Andover-Newton Theological School, the Institute for Sociotherapy, the Washington School of Psychiatry, and the Imago Relationship Therapy Institute. I am trained as a psychoanalytic psychotherapist and pastoral therapist, psychoanalyst, psychodramatist, marriage and family therapist, grief and bereavement therapist, trauma and crisis therapist, addiction therapist, divorce mediator, energy healing (Healing Codes and Theta Healing), Shamanism, and many different kinds of workshops.
