No need to look any further: you’ve found the make-up artist you need to hire. Why? Matthew is a true artist! Truly, he’s such a gifted makeup artist! Extremely meticulous in his work, and such a joy to work with! For our session, he did an incredible editorial look on me, and the final reveal was absolutely breathtaking. (1) He came prepared with a fully-fleshed out idea for the look, taking into account my outfit and personal style, and still flexible enough with the color theory to account for last-minute changes. (2) He did phenomenal skin-care prep before applying the actual makeup. So luxurious! (3) He used multiple palettes, products, etc., using specific colors and amounts from each, carefully mixing with different brushes on a metal palette to produce the desired effect. I felt like a canvas witnessing the budding genius of Michelangelo. (4) He was super down-to-earth, easy to talk to, and happy to talk about his personal brand and experience as a make-up artist. He’s been shadowing a celebrity make-up artist, and does specific events/work for Chanel, so he’s certainly talented and definitely going places, but not at all pretentious! (5) He arrived early to our session, and throughout planning, was super responsive and upfront on Thumbtack. (6) Our session did not feel too-long, or overly tedious at all. Matthew is clearly practiced in his mobile station set-up, being super organized and efficient, clean and sanitary, and very adaptable to the space he has to work in. He brought his own lighting equipment, plus his own digital camera to professionally capture his masterpiece of a make-up look after he was done!

Matthew was amazing! I hired him to do my make up and a friends for the day of my baby shower. I didn’t show him any pictures, just described that I wanted a natural look and he totally understood and made me look beautiful!
