The sole reason he gets one star is because we received the drawing we needed despite the daily promise to deliver for 4 days and the bogus request for the bonus despite not delivering on time if you did. He sent us an email as a contract and in hindsight since we've never hired an architect he omitted a lot that would haunt us: bonus if on time and lack of an ability to get us a hard copy of the drawing. We spent over 3 hours and $72 trying to find a printer who could deliver an 18" x 24" drawing. Simply a dishonest, no moral compass person.May 23, 2019Verified
This unprofessional architect has charged us 55% down for the developing of my new house blueprints agreeing to complete it in 4 weeks. It is now month 4 and have received nothing but some drawing of houses I can also get in google. He has changed the drawings so many times due to some findings in the county codes which are not true because if he started from the beginning of the contract we could have already finished the construction. I have asked for my money back as he has not complied with the terms of the agreement but he refuses to do so. I will submit a complaint to the city to remove his license as he should not be practicing and stealing money from people. I will do this even if I do not get my money back and lose money in Lawyers. This should not happen to other people.Jul 16, 2018VerifiedGREVIOUSarchitect's reply
The client was several weeks (months) delinquent in providing a required document, the lot survey. A required document to locate the house on the lot and for a building permit. The client received the completed design drawings, as contracted, with the house located on the lot and in code compliance after receipt of the frequently requested lot survey. It is the client's responsibility to furnish required documents and in this case the client failed to do so in a timely manner resulting in the project delay.
The job we had was to add a dormitory to one of our small house , after getting estimates from other contractors and architects was ridiculous, I got referred by a co-worker to use the thumbtack site, after explaining my situation, I got so many calls from different contractors , among all there was one call that come from Grievous architect , because I was turning around by other architectures , I was about to give up , but than Mr. Grievous called back Mr. Grievous this is a great a person to work withhe was respond right away, show up on time, give an estimate, don't talk you into more work than you need, do the job right and he was very pleasant through the whole process, from that on everything have been wonderful, his professional work was amazing he did it just right. I selected him and his business after getting two other estimates, one twice as much with far less detail in the estimate, the other just gave a verbal estimate. If you want good work without getting ripped off, just skip the scam artists out there and call Grievous architect. I highly recommend him. The work was done promptly and perfectly, and the price was very reasonable I'd definitely call him back for other work in the future!Jul 17, 2015Verified
