Had a private lesson for ballet because I haven’t danced in a while. It was very worth the time and money as Gonzalo gave me corrections that changed the way in how I was approaching dance in general. Great insights, really good advice, and an overall great class!

Details: 18-25 • One person (one-on-one with instructor) • Modern / Contemporary • Intermediate • Developing a hobby • 45 minutes • Once a week • At the pro’s location

Gonzo was exceptional! He is a highly skilled professional and ably ramped up our dance skills. He had very thoughtful comments, took instructive videos and offered lots of tips and pointers to create a memorable dance routine from entrance to ending poses. Just to be clear here - he was instructing 4 individuals with basic to no dance skills and after 3 hours we feel comfortable and confident with the routine he created for us and that we will be practicing for the next few weeks. We plan to have a wrap up session closer to our event. Can’t thank him enough!

Details: My group of 3-4 people • First dance • Parent dance (i.e., father/daughter) • Slow Dance • Waltz • No, I do not have choreography in mind • Beginner • My home, venue, etc.

Gonzo, well as us being complete beginners and worried about how to assess teacher quality, disarmed our concerns immediately. He knows what he's doing, he adjusts his curricula accordingly and NOT by rote, and has an easy manner to convey his instructions. He is both professional and warm, responsive and focused, skilled in both dance and communication

Details: 65+ • Two people • Ballroom • No experience • Preparing for a wedding • 60 minutes • As recommended by professional • My home, venue, etc.

Gonzo was amazing! He coordinated our wedding first dance. It was a pleasure working with a professional who can take any song you choose and coordinate a beautiful and classy dance that’s exciting and fun to do. Gonzo has given us a beautiful memory that will last us a life time. If you’re in need a pro call Gonzo!

Details: Two (ex. me and my partner) • First dance • What my teacher recommends • Slow Dance • No, I do not have choreography in mind • Beginner • My home, venue, etc.

FAQs

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I always seek to improve myself with lessons from teachers of various fields relating to movement and art. So I am knowledgeable about almost all aspects of how people think and see themselves in move across space. I have become an expert at walking with good posture and poise. We take these three for granted so studying them is a must if you want to dance well

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I love the feeling I have when I am lost in the moment and I am moving with the music. So as early as I can remember I wanted to dance. Teaching dance was just another way to keep dancing as much of time as possible. I have never had any other full time job.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

I have trained dancers from all walks of life. I teach children and senior citizens and everyone in between and at all skill levels, from the most novices to professionals. I have not met anyone that could not learn to dance no matter how clumsy they felt at the start because they all respond well to the positive reinforcement I am able to convey.
