Most unprofessional company I've ever dealt with. Terrible customer service, very irresponsible (misplacing items, breaking items, etc) and extremely slow. The "truck" is actually a trailer. At one point the movers said they could not fit our box spring (queen size btw -- nothing HUGE) into the new apartment...so my husband went down the stairs to take a look. He asked if they tried to rotate the queen size box spring to fit it another way.... they did NOT even try that until it was suggested by the customer! I wonder if the couch I had to put out for trash also could've been rotated a different way to fit into the apartment.... What an awful experience when we were specifically paying for a service to avoid the stress of moving .... I am sore from having to physically move a lot of items myself since these guys were too slow to get it done! We could've moved everything ourselves in half the amount of time....... unacceptable. AND they are giving us a hard time about receiving a credit. I am still pretty upset about this experience. One positive thing I want to end with: The guys were all very very very verryyyyy nice people.. I feel terrible about writing a negative review, but due to the head guy not working with us, I cannot hold back. I cannot imagine anyone else having to go through this terrible experience so I am hoping this will help them make the necessary changes to improve their business. Sorry to the guys that I really enjoyed as people... I hope this can be used as constructive criticism. There has been a lot of back and forth since I posted the above review on Yelp.com and the issue is still unresolved...The latest is that JD hung up on me.........

In my 10 years of experience as a professional mover, a move will only take longer than estimated if one is unprepared when the movers arrive. In the future, if you decide to move with another moving company,  my professional advice is to have everything packed and sealed in boxes, provide a clear pathway and reserve an elevator prior to the mover's arrival. I strongly suggest that you follow the pre-move checklist and tips I provided in your next move. > > In addition, when you store your belongings in a second location, be sure to select a climate controlled unit, wrap your furniture in plastic and ensure there is no food in the area to prevent animal/rodent feces from contaminating the storage space. We are sorry you had to discard your couch but please keep in mind another moving company may not be willing to clean your furniture and/or move it from a second location without knowing in advance. > > After making several proactive steps to discuss your issues and further attempting to resolve it by giving you a $500 credit for your move, we thought we alleviated your concerns for the time that you think it took to move you and your husband. Unfortunately, in reading you and your husband Joe's review, it is clear that isn't the case. I sincerely hope that my professional advice will assist you in a future move.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

    What you should have done before you move One Month Before * *Book Great Movers 4 Cheap.* Select a company and get written confirmation of your moving date and other details. * *Begin packing.* Start packing the things that you use most infrequently, such as the waffle iron and croquet set. * *Label.* Clearly label and number each box with its contents and the room it’s destined for. This will help you to keep an inventory of your belongings. Pack and label “essentials” boxes of items you’ll need right away. * *Separate valuables.* Add items such as jewelry and important files to a safe box that you’ll personally transport to your new home. Make sure to put the mover’s information in this box. You’ll need it for reference on moving day. * *Do a change of address.* Go to your local post office and fill out a change-of-address form, or do it online at usps.gov. But in case there are stragglers, it’s always wise to ask a close neighbor to look out for mail after you’ve moved. Check in with him or her two weeks after the move, and again two weeks after that. * *Notify important parties.* Alert the following of your move: banks, brokerage firms, your employer’s human resources department, magazine and newspapers you subscribe to, and credit card, insurance, and utility companies. * *Forward medical records.* Arrange for medical records to be sent to any new health-care providers or obtain copies of them yourself.     I wish they knew the difference between a low price and a great deal. Some of my clients go with a company because of the price, but are disappointed when their belongings are damaged. We try to keep our prices low and take care of your stuff.
