Introduction: I have been handling personal injury cases, including automobile accidents claims, slip and fall cases, and professional negligence claims, for almost 30 years. I have personally handled thousands of injury cases, recovering tens of millions of dollars for my clients. I have been recognized numerous times by Washingtonian Magazine as one of the area's top lawyers; the magazine described me "among Washington's best - most honest and effective - lawyers who sue" and called me "one of the area's most respected and sought-after legal minds." I am also listed as a Super Lawyer (superlawyers.com), have a perfect 10.00 score by AVVO (avvo.com), and have never had less than an AV rating by Martindale Hubbell Legal Directory - the highest rating attainable (martindale.com). Additionally, my firm has been consistently ranked one of the top personal injury firms in the area by readers (other lawyers) of The National Law Journal/Legal Times. I handle all of my files personally. When clients call my office to discuss their cases, I speak to them, not a paralegal or legal assistant. I most enjoy helping my clients navigate their injury claims to a successful conclusion.

Personal Injury Attorney

Roger Gelb was very helpful and with me every step of the way. He showed empathy and ensured he was the one speaking to me every time. I have never met another lawyer who is as personal as he is. I would recommend him every time.

Personal Injury Attorney

Mr Gelb is always there to answer your questions and give clarity on whatever was not clear the first time he explained. He doesn't mind going over a topic again and again untill you get it. Whenever you call his office to discuss your case you only speak with him no one else. He is very prompt with responding to emails or telephone calls. So far so good no complains👍

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Essentially all personal injury attorneys are paid on a contingent basis; meaning, if there is no recovery, there is no fee. The industry standard is 1/3 (or 33.33%) of the gross recovery if the case is settled prior to litigation, and 40% of the recovery if the case is litigated. I reduce my fee by 20% for clients who come to by way of Thumbtack, for any case that I settle without the need to litigate the case.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Although I prefer to meet with my new clients in person, I am aware that people are busy and that meeting in person is not always convenient. With that in mind, I am happy to, at least initially, set up everything over the phone and via email. If a client is unable to travel, I may be able to visit the client in person.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Of course, I have a law degree, plus over 27 years of experience handling personal injury cases.
