I have been working with the trainer Padraig now for 2 weeks with Gunner and Wren. I can't say enough for how impressed we have been. The techniques we learned from week one has already had a huge impact on my dog's behavior. I love that as an owner I have been educated on the dog's behavior and body language to understand the whys about the technique and the cues from my dog to know when they are over stimulated and tired during training. I feel supported and encouraged to be confident with my dogs now. I have already seen a huge difference in their behaviors. I can already walk my dogs with just 3 fingers on the leash and no pulling. They are sitting when we stop without being told. It is amazing. Both of my dogs are excited to train when I bring them out to Padraig. I look forward to our sessions.

Padraig and Cerberus K9 are the real deal. My wife and I contacted Padraig with hopes of getting our Labrador trained as a service dog for myself due to personal setbacks I have stemming from time in service. Padraig was immediately responsive and understanding with our request, and provided immense detail ahead of our first meetup. He went over his history, approach, training methods, and expected outcomes. Despite my busy schedule and an unexpected injury, Padraig continued to be flexible with our needs and was always reachable via phone. He worked around our schedule, and was just as well versed in training our pup as he was in training us as handlers. He continued to share tips and maintenance drills for us to run to keep our dog locked in for her duties and how to roll back into puppy mode when she’s home or at the park. His methods are direct and effective, never aggressive, and he explains them in a simple and applicable way. Start to finish it was a great experience and I genuinely appreciate Padraig’s commitment, patience, professionalism, and wisdom. Many thank you’s to Cerberus K9.

I cannot say enough great things about Padraig and his dog training services. In just one week, Bowie has already bloomed from an anxious dog into one that actively comforts me, day and night. The progress we’ve seen in such a short amount of time is truly remarkable and speaks volumes about Padraig’s skill, patience, and understanding of both dogs and their handlers. Padraig is currently training Bowie to be a service animal, and the foundation he’s building is incredible. We hired Padraig because Teddy was struggling with serious aggression issues, including resource guarding and reactivity towards other dogs and children. During the first visit, Padraig brought two dogs to properly assess Teddy's reactions, and we were incredibly relieved to learn that Teddy was actually highly anxious and fearful, not truly aggressive—a diagnostic clarity that made all the difference since we had been considering adoption. Padraig's clear approach, which focused on correcting poor behavior using specific techniques and proper equipment, was effective immediately. His training was comprehensive: he provided concrete, effective recommendations for every behavior issue we faced, from excessive barking and food begging to correcting habits like licking and managing the use of furniture (teaching us that he should remain on the ground). We also learned the immense value of utilizing the crate and consistent socialization to all kinds of environments to solve many underlying issues. After just the first session, Teddy is calmer, more responsive to cues, and walks better than before. I would highly recommend him to any dog owner who is having issues with their dog. He is probably the best dog trainer we have in the DMV area.
