The pro was very thorough. Not only to get inspect the outside of my house, he also inspected the garage, basement and attic. Since the service we have found a large number of dead ants inside and out. I known we had a problem, but never realized the level of infestation we had. I would highly recommend this company.

Had a problem with fleas that I couldn't manage myself. Ben was great, came out on a Saturday morning to work around my schedule. I was impressed by his patience and kindness after going through hell with the DAFB gate guards who went on a power trip. The price was very reasonable for the size of my house, was getting almost double the quote from other companies. Wofle Pest Control did not make me feel like I was dirty for having a pest problem, they put an end to my embarrassing and frustrating problem. I have not seen fleas in my house OR on my cats since. I would absolutely use their services again and will refer them to all of my friends!

Evict Pest Solutions did a two-part treatment to rid our yard of grubs last year. The sprayed our yard adjacent to the woods and around our shrubs. They also found the source of ants coming into our kitchen, advised us to keep the area cleared of leaves and provided two types of treatment which kept us any free ever since. We are planning to have them come within the next week or two to repeat all of these treatments and add monthly mosquito misting to services they provide for us. We have been extremedy happy with the results.

Their quarterly service really helps keep the bugs under control. We started using them after buying a house that hadn't been lived in for a while. The basement was cinder blocks with a french drain and had a bit of a cricket problem. As in, I'd never seen so many crickets before. Shortly after moving in, we discovered our son was allergic to crickets. So we called Tri-State. I haven't seen a cricket in the basement in years now.And in between you can call them for any problems you find and they'll take care of it, covered by your quarterly service. I found a European hornet in our yard. I called, they came out, verified it was a European hornet, then spent the next hour or so checking every possible place for where a nest might be, from the attic to under the ground. The nest wasn't in our yard, but a lilac bush they were attracted to was. No charge for the visit.Ants showed up on the side of the house and they came out and took care of it.Quality people every time, from those on the phones to those that come to your house.

Training and experience gives us and edge on finding solutions to your problems. Our family has been in pest control since 1979. Our objective is to address any pest related issues in a safe and environmentally friendly manner. “Spray” is a general, blanket term that is not in our vocabulary but is often used in our industry. Bathing or haphazardly “spraying” a structure often has little or no effect while introducing unnecessary toxins to groundwater. Our treatments target specific areas in and around your home as they relate to your pest problem. This allows us to address pest issues without adversely impacting the environment.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What do pest control companies do?

Pest control companies handle all aspects of bug, rodent and animal extermination or removal. Pest control professionals visit your home or office to identify the type of pest that is troubling you and offer various treatment plans — complete with clearly outlined costs. Once you and the pest control company have a signed agreement, the pro will begin treatment. Pest treatment can range from the use of spray pesticides and gel bait to live and/or kill traps. There are a wide range of types of pesticides, many of them nontoxic for humans and other small animals. This means you may be able to have your home treated for pests without harming nearby wildlife or your dog and cat. The pest control pro will carry out the treatment plan and, depending on the service agreement, provide follow-up such as emptying traps, inspecting access points, or reapplying pesticide spray if the pests return. Costs will vary based on the type of pest you are having removed and the extent of the infestation. The average national pest control price range is $80-$130. From a minor bedbug event to an entire home termite infestation, pest control companies have got you covered.

How much does it cost to remove a mouse?

If you have a mouse in your house you’re probably quickly researching pest control costs. Mice, although tiny, can transmit diseases and also get into your food and leave unsanitary droppings around your home. If you have seen one mouse in your house, it’s likely that more have taken up residence in your crawl space, attic or basement. The national average pest control cost is $150-$200. Costs can vary depending on whether you need to get rid of a population of living mice or just dispose of a dead mouse (or full traps), how extensive the mouse population is, and where you live in the country. Here are some examples of average pest control cost for removing a mouse:

  • $150 for initial trap setup and inspection (and sealing of entry holes).
    • $50 for rodent removal service calls and emptying of traps. This visit can also include identifying and sealing entry points that were not sealed on the first visit.
  • Rodent extermination: $110-$350, depending on how heavy the rodent population is, whether the mouse infestation poses health risks, how many entrances exist and how many rodent bait stations are needed.

How much does it cost for a pest control service?

Whether you need to get rid of bugs or rodents, pest removal professionals can be lifesaving when you have an infestation. Pest control prices will vary based on what type of pest is being removed. The national pest control price range is $80-$130, although prices can be much higher for tasks like wildlife removal (raccoons, bobcats, etc.), which might start at $250 and exceed $500, depending on the animal and the trapping measures required.

The cost of eliminating a termite colony ranges on average from $240 to $400, but these costs can increase greatly if the whole house is infested. The average cost to kill cockroaches is between $80 and $130, while bedbug extermination ranges from $320 to $400 on average. The main factors that will affect your pest control price are the type of pest, the extent of the infestation, the accessibility of the infested areas, and the type of treatment required.

How much does it cost to get rid of cockroaches?

Cockroaches are not only ugly, they are difficult to get rid of. Quick and resilient, they can be hard to get rid of without professional help once they have inhabited a house. Nationally, the average range for cockroach pest control cost is $80-$130. Extermination professionals typically provide a free estimate to determine the extent of the infestation. They’ll check for the main sources of the bugs, identify bug access and entry points into your home, and determine the best method for elimination. There are a variety of cockroach extermination tools including gel baits and traps, pesticide foggers, desiccants (which dry out the cockroaches), neurotoxins, and other pesticides. Pest control costs can also cover preventive measures like regular spraying and trap maintenance. Some regions of the country are much more prone to cockroach problems than others, so pest control costs may need to be part of your quarterly budget. Cockroaches love dark, humid, and warm areas and water sources, so place traps near your washer and dryer and under your sinks.

How much does it cost to treat a house for termites?

Termites are not only creepy-crawly, they can literally eat your house out from underneath you. Termites feed on damp and dry wood and can chomp through your house at an alarming rate. The national average pest control cost for termite extermination is $240-$400. Treatment costs can be higher for an extensive infestation. Here are some examples of average pest control costs for termites:

  • Liquid treatment of subterranean termites: $3-$4 per linear foot.
    • For $75 per year, a company may offer a maintenance plan that provides inspection of the property and renewal of the warranty.
  • Liquid treatment of subterranean termites: approximately $400 for a 2,000-square-foot home at $3-$5 per linear foot.
    • The price is higher for additional work such as foaming and drilling inside of concrete slabs.
  • Fumigation treatment of drywood termites: $1,200-$1,500 for a 30,000- to 35,000-cubic-foot home
    • Fumigation is measured in cubic feet because it fills the airspace of the home and infiltrates the wood that the termites may be colonizing. The cost of fumigation is affected by the number of levels in the home as well as the square footage.
