Introduction: Esperanza Catering at Boca Helping Hands is a social enterprise training program for individuals who are currently out of work (unemployed, underemployed or receiving some sort of government or local assistance to survive) and looking to become employed in the hospitality industry. Esperanza Catering is led by Kerri Powers who is the class instructor and catering supervisor. She trains all "student employees" with the proper ServSafe Food Handler's and TiPS Alcohol Awareness Certifications (both recognized by DBPR). Even though Boca Helping Hands is primarily a soup kitchen, all food products served by Esperanza Catering at Boca Helping Hands are purchased, many are locally grown and sustainable. When you have the ability to hire a catering company with very competitive prices and delicious foods, and have to opportunity to put someone to work who is looking to better their life and become self-sufficient, it just makes sense to hire Esperanza Catering at Boca Helping Hands.
