FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our fees are all project based - we prefer to be paid per song vs. per hour because we give great attention to detail and want all of our artists to be happy with their music. We do not work based on a clock with hours but based on how the music should sound.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
For new customers, we like to be familiar with their music before we press record. It's important for us to hear the music before we work on it. We do our best to make our clients comfortable and have a good time in the studio while also taking the music seriously. Our typical process is preproduction (listen to the artist perform the song and give notes), recording, editing and post-production (tightening up the screws), and finally mixing and mastering.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Both of us were mentored by various other producers and studio owners as well as performing in several bands. We have learned mostly by shadowing other successful engineers and producers and also by doing. While Pioneer Sound was founded in January 2017, David and myself have been recording bands together since 2012.
