I recently came to Mike as a relative beginner to the game of golf. After just one lesson, I already feel like a ton of progress has been made towards hitting the ball straight down the fairway. I am looking forward to continued lessons from Mike which I am confident will bring growth to my game!Dec 3, 2020Verified
My first lesson with Mike was an amazing experience. Mike has a way of explaining the theory so that it makes sense, and is easy to apply in practice. Additionally, Mike weaves in golf history and facts into his lessons, which made for an immersive experience. I am relatively new to the game and I saw a noticable difference after our first class. Looking forward to our future lessons!Oct 9, 2020Verified
Had a lesson today with Mike and was very pleased. Mike can pick up swing flaws very quickly, articulate them to your understanding and offer corrective action so you can work on them while practicing. I signed up for three additional lessons on the spot.Nov 3, 2020Verified
Mike is a phenomenal coach. I got my money’s worth in the first 15 minutes. The rest was just a bonus. Mike corrected a couple things in my set-up that I would’ve never been able to figure out on my own or with any amount of YouTube videos. I used to have a slight slice to most of my shots. With just a few recommendations from Mike, I was hitting my 7 iron consistently straight and about 10 yards further... all within the hour! I can’t recommend him enough. Thanks again Mike. Looking forward to a putting lesson with you sometime soon so you can fix that part of my game too.Aug 10, 2020VerifiedMike Riso Golf's reply
Thanks so much Greg. I'm looking forward to helping you with your putting and any other areas you'd like to strengthen! Best wishes, Michael
Very attentive and likes to teach. Pays attention to little details then responds accordingly. Nice teacher in general especially if you are brand new to this. Check him out!Oct 6, 2020VerifiedMike Riso Golf's reply
Thanks JT, it's been a pleasure helping you and Donnie enjoy this wonderful and challenging game!
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Pricing depends on the particular package you're interested in, and whether lessons are private, semi-private, or group classes. We also have special packages designed for: women, seniors, juniors, and those needing more distance.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? The most important step is our initial conversation to discover more about your game. From there, we'll identify how long you've been playing, how frequently you golf, and where you're headed with your game.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work? For ten years I owned and operated Swing In Time golf shop in Buffalo, New York. We specialized in professional instruction, and custom-fit golf clubs. Currently I'm in the final stage of the PGA Professional Golf Management Program. I've worked with The First Tee junior golf program, both as a coach and heading up a fundraiser. Was also responsible for operating the junior golf program at Clearwater Country Club for the past 3 years. When instructing I often refer to the classic teaching books by Ben Hogan, Bobby Jones, Sam Snead, Paul Runyan, Walter Hagen, and also many of the present day teachers.
