He put together a tv stand that had the worst directions possible but he made it all work. He also dissembled a king size bed and assembled another king size bed. Did it all in under 4 hours. Very hard worker.

We needed our 65" TV (Roughly 120 lbs) dismounted from on the wall and packaged into a box. This company delivered with excellent service from start to finish. Service was fast, efficient, and professional. I would definitely recommend using this company again in the future if I were to ever return to the Tampa area.

Ron was a total professional. He was on time & explained everything he was doing, even helped me understand why he was doing what he was doing. He was patient with us even though we didn't have all the parts needed to install our TV's, he allowed us to go to the hardware store to get the parts needed without making us feel like he was in a hurry or had to wait on us. When he finished he cleaned up all the trash that was left. We have more TV's needing to be hung & some electrical work we need done & will go to no one else but Ron Barak!

Fabian wall mounted a 55" 4K tv for me recently in Tampa Florida. He was fast, precise and affordable. For less than the price of the mount alone he measured everything and mounted end it perfectly in record time and made sure all inputs were correct. I was thoroughly impressed and will definitely hire him again to install my tv in my master bedroom!! I'd also like to say he cleaned up all drywal dust and masking tape and left the install cleaner that it was to begin with! A top notch installer!

Hayden did a fantastic job on what was a pretty big job - assembling and installing a Murphy Bed with shelving units on both sides. We are so pleased that we already have him coming back to help with some additional projects!

The ultimate test of a professional is their responsiveness when something isn't quite right the first time. Ronnie picked up where the countertop installers left off and when a piece was found missing, that caused a small leak, Ronnie was back the next day and fixed it right away. In fact, it was better than new. I would highly recommmend him.

I hired Bill to take down my old tv and install a new one. I thought I had everything needed to install the new tv but the tv bracket needed longer bolts. Bill ran to Home Depot and got the right bolts, finished installing the tv and setting up two firesticks. Thanks Bill!

I had an exceptional experience with Nick and his crew. I purchased a villa and had two weeks to prepare to movie in. Nick's crew gutted two bathrooms, painted and installed cabinetry, flooring and toilet. He also painted my bedroom. There were a few issues after I moved in and he was very prompt to resolve them. I would highly recommend Nick to anyone looking for expert, dependable workmanship. Five Star Job

James and his helper were extremely professional. They hung 4 TV's for me including one outside. All wires are hidden just like we wanted. They were quick and cleaned up any mess that was made. I felt his price was fair and comparable to other quotes we received. I would highly recommend James and use his service inthe future.

Easy to deal with along with 2 jobs I gave him. Found some bad hazard areas showed me first to ok and fixed. A lot of inside and outside lights were replaced including new outlet switches' to power up new appliance in a different area. GFI work, bathroom fans, attic fans and light put in. Outside GFI plugs Home Surge protector.etc. Picked up all his messes and was not trying to over sell me on anything and when I asked about my main breaker box he looked at it and found it all in order that it didn't need to be replaced.

Stan has done more than my original project I set out on thumbtack. He is honest, fair and reasonably priced. He started with minor plumbing then removing my backsplash and counters. Then putting up new drywall where my backsplash was and replacing it. I will hire him next to build a 15'x14' composite deck in my backyard bar area.

Walfredo and his team are just amazing! Very professional, knowledgeable and extremely friendly! We started with three bathroom remodel projects and ended up adding a master bath remodel, appliances and faucets installation in the kitchen and extra services around the house. We couldn't get our house ready before moving in if it wasn't for Walfredo! We'll be forever thankful for his hardwork!

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What should you do with a broken LCD TV?

Nationally, the average price range for TV repair is $60-$90. LCD TV repairs are one of the most common TV repair requests. A liquid crystal display (LCD) TV uses the same technology as your smartphone and most computer screens. Images are created on an LCD screen by electric currents that pass or block light through liquid crystals that are encased between two polarized, glass-like sheets. LCD TVs can be very thin and are relatively affordable, making them one of the most prevalent types of TV on the market. If you have a broken LCD TV, it can probably be repaired. Common problems that can be repaired include a blank screen, sound issues, power problems and digital connection problems. Here is one example of LCD TV repair cost:

  • 55-inch Samsung LCD TV repair: $150, including parts and labor
    • The LCD was intermittently powering up and powering off. The main circuit board was removed and replaced.

Who wall mounts TVs?

Electricians, handymen and TV installation specialists may all provide television mounting services. The person who does the mounting should be qualified and knowledgeable about basic construction concepts as well as working with audiovisual cables. In general, no specialized certificates are required to provide television mounting services, but as always do your diligence and make smart hiring decisions.

It’s important to find an experienced professional who will ensure the TV wall mount meets building code. Most regions have fire codes that don’t permit high-voltage power cords behind walls (low-voltage wires like HDMI and video cables are generally acceptable). A basic wall mount on drywall may take approximately one to two hours, while more complex mounts on brick or stone with hidden cables can take three or more hours. If you need more electrical outlets installed near your entertainment system, you may want to hire an electrician. Check out our tips for smart hiring on Thumbtack.

Can you fix a flat screen TV?

Yes, you can usually fix a flat screen TV. Whether you have a plasma, LED, OLED, HDR, HD or even LCD, TV repair pros can repair your TV. Flat screen TVs are expensive, and when they stop working it can make your heart stop. But TV repair technicians have advanced along with TV technology and are equipped with the proper tools and training for major and minor repairs. If your flat screen is too massive to transport, most repair companies have pickup and drop-off service. For the most common problems, TV repair pricing might range between $175 and $200 on average. Here are examples of the most common problems:

  • Power problems: The TV won’t turn on or will not stay on once started.
  • Digital problems: All connections are in place but you’re not receiving any signal.
  • Sound problems: There is no sound, the volume doesn’t respond to attempts to raise or lower it, or the volume is inconsistent.
  • Screen problems: The TV is on but there is no picture.

How much does it cost to mount a TV?

Elevate your home style with television mounting services. The national average price for television mounting services ranges between $100 and $130. Factors that can affect cost are the material of the wall you want the TV mounted on, whether you want the wires hidden, and any additional entertainment system connection you desire. It probably costs more to mount a TV on brick, stone or concrete than on drywall or plaster due to the added labor required to drill holes. For example, a company may charge an additional $99 to mount a TV on a brick wall. Here are some examples of average costs for television mounting services:

  • Basic TV wall mount: $40. Does not include bracket, device connection or strip management.
  • TV wall mount: $119. Includes bracket, mounting services, strip management system (for concealing external wires), and connection of all entertainment devices.
  • TV wall mount with wires hidden inside wall: $139.
  • Installation of additional electrical outlet: $65.
  • TV wall mount over fireplace with wires hidden: $179-$249.
  • TV wall mount and up to 5 speakers wall-mounted with hidden wires: $399.

How much does it cost to repair a TV?

If your TV isn’t working, don’t despair. TV repair professionals can handle almost any situation, no matter how new or outdated your TV’s technology. The national average TV repair cost is $50-$90, although prices can be higher based on the type of TV and the work required. Because most TVs today are much too large to transport in an ordinary car, many companies provide transportation services for an added fee. Here are some examples of average TV repair costs for specific problems and TV models:

  • 65-inch Sony DLP TV repair cost: $275, including parts and labor.
    • Removed old light engine and bulb and installed new.
  • 42-inch Sanyo Plasma TV repair cost: $200, including parts and labor.
    • Multiple circuit boards had gone bad in the TV. Technicians installed a new Y-SUS sustain buffer board and an X main board.
  • 55-inch Samsung LCD TV repair cost: $150, including parts and labor.
    • The LCD was intermittently powering up and powering off. Replacing the main circuit board solved the problem.
