About
As a voice teacher, I integrate both technical aspects of position (larynx, soft palate, posture) as well as integrating the different registers (head voice, mixed and chest). I am a teacher who also works in the field professionally, which provides an added level of mastery that filters into my teaching. In addition to my musical training, I studied Meditation with a master as well as 10 years of Leadership training at Landmark Education. I enjoy seeing the progress in the student, and developing a rapport with the student such that there is a trust and commitment which allows for deeper growth in the student's studies.

David is a terrific teacher and first-class performer. He will do excellent work for you as a teacher. As Professor of Music at Manhattan College in New York, I have known and worked with him professionally for years and hold him in very high regard.

Mr. Presler has achieved great success as a teacher. He went above and beyond what was required. I highly recommend his services for pupils of all ages, since his experiences range from the youngest to the oldest of students.

David is a consummate professional. Passionate about his art and his gentle instruction and easy going personality make him a great teacher. He has really mastered his instrument and knows how to help others do the same.

Hired on Thumbtack

I started lessons with him in January. He was all over-the-top flattery and compliments and filled my head with great expectations. He actually was more interested in what I could do for him than developing me as a student. His current partner had left him and he needed someone to fill her spot. He invited me to do a few gigs with him. I did it for the "experience" of performing out. After a few shows, he was getting compensated monetarily, as much as $700 for the show. I got experience. After we did a major concert together, in which I sold almost all the tickets and received no compensation monetarily (just experience), I suggested that in going forward, that I should be compensated either in a dollar amount or a barter for lessons. That was when the trouble began and the "pulling away from me" began. We had talked previously about doing shows together and I did a great deal of research on the topic. When he asked for my research, I told him that he could find everything on the internet, just as I had. That's when he dropped me as a student. He did come to my house on time but he way over-stayed him time to an almost uncomfortable situation. I would advise caution in selecting David as a teacher. His agenda is self-serving.
